Terrible Hood
Nice jacket. Fairly rugged. Not a light-weight summer rain jacket but good for cool/cold rain or wet snow. Sizes run large but we all know that's common with Carhartt. Plenty of room for a light sweatshirt underneath. My only complaint about the jacket is that the collar wouldn't lay flat and poked me in the chin. Had to install snaps to hold the collar back when not fully zipped. The hood on this jacket is another matter. It's terrible! The hood on my "medium" size jacket was about 4 inches too long (high), the brim hung down below my nose, and the storm flaps were a nuisance. Required major cutting and re-sewing by my wife (nice job dear, much better now).

Good Jacket
I wear this jacket a lot . It blocks the wind good its warm , dry and has a lot of good features IMO . I tournament bass fish and use it as the top half of my rain suit . I like the collar. I have a beard and when driving a boat 60+ mph the rain doesn't get in my beard and then run down my chest under the jacket (a plus). The cuffs seal well enough to keep the rain from running up my sleeve another plus . The pockets are well thought out . The length is perfect for me . I wear an XL and it fits the same as my other Carhartt stuff. I keep a GoreTex jacket also in my boat but always use the Carhartt jacket . IMO for the price it cant be beat .

Can withstand the elements
I have taken this jacket into some very heavy rain falls without a drop of water seeping through. The jacket is definitely waterproof without question. I am 6'1 and I purchased a large tall. My only minor critique is that the sleeves were a little too long but the actual length of the jacket is perfect. It's lightweight and breathes well with plenty of room to layer. Quality product.

Disapointed
I bought this jacket expecting exactly what Carhartt has always delivered. I have always been so impressed with everything i've ever purchased jackets shirts socks jeans i've never been let down by the quality or durability of the products but with the shoreline vapor jacket was sold as being "storm defender" and the first day I bought it, I wore it to go for a mountain bike ride. Within the half an hour all the moisture had soaked through my vapor shoreline jacket and I was soaking wet. Since then I have tried to wear it in the rain and the jacket has failed me again and again. I have been very disappointed with my jacket and if you want something waterproof do not buy the shoreline vapor jacket

Not water proof.
I am a mail man. I wear this in all weather all day. This jacket will "bleed water". I bring 3- 4 hoodies to wear under it when it rains. Once one hoodie is damp I switch out for another. This will keep me dry throughout the day. Also the hood strings simply are not enough to keep the hood tight. I purchased some "cord locks", so I could tighten it. Overall I am pleased, It works much better than the GorTex jacket the Post Office offers.

Stay dry but not sweaty
Love it! So far this jacket has kept me dry through rain in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Like some others posted, the sleeves seem a little long, but the Velcro on them let's you make a few adjustments.
The fit, workmanship and quality are what I expect from Carhartt

Best Breathable fowl weather jacket out there
This is a must have for anyone who is outdoors when the weather turns bad. It will keep you dry in the heaviest of downpours. Great extreme rain jacket.

Not for me
I was disappointed with the fit. The shoulder area was slightly tight fitting while the bottom of the coat balloons out, kind like wearing a parachute. The coat just doesn't fit right and I returned it. I feel like Carhartt was attempting to get into the fashion industry here and not staying true to the working man. Just my opinion of course.

It was my favorite Jacket for a while
When I first purchased this jacket it was great. It shed water well, looked good, and kept me dry. Now after about a year of having it, I can't even wear it in the rain without being soaked. I'm pretty disappointed

Jacket is great in terms of rain, but I wish the hood had some sort of better draw strings etc. As it is the draw strings don't really help. I also would suggest possibly a minimal thin fleece liner for Comfort. All in all it seems pricey for what you get.

Well made rain gear
I have a mowing and landscaping business Getting caught in the rain is a common occurrence. I have tried a lot of different brands and styles. This jacket has proven to keep me dry, fit comfortable, and be durable enough to work in and get dirty. Its been worth every penny.

Fantastic Portland rainy season jacket
Once again a great product from Carhartt. I constantly get compliments on this jacket, the grey/shadow color scheme is great. Breathability is there, but wearing a tee shirt or short sleeves only under this jacket, the waterproof lining will stick to your skin a bit. Great in the winter paired with a hooded sweatshirt or sweatshirt, fits easily underneath and runs true to size, perhaps a little slim. When I moved to Portland, I knew I would need to add a new waterproof jacket to my closet...I tried all the high end brands...from $500 and up...and for 99 bucks this is an exceptional value.

Jackets were a Hit!
We ordered over 30 of the Blue Camo design since it was close to the company colors. Embroidered them with a safety orange thread and they came out AWESOME! Our team loved the jackets and they were issued just in time for some cold wet weather. Our safety professionals said they layer well and keep moisture out.

Love the jacket. I had to order 3 (large, medium, small) to get one that fit. I would buy more Carhartt stuff if they fit like the did years ago. No more ordering online. You never know what you are going to get. All are bigger than my old ones.

I purchased a raincoat similar to this several years ago. I really liked it and have only worn it about two dozen times. Regrettably, the inside lining has peeled away from the exterior fabric and leaves a mess of plastic pieces everywhere I go thus, rendering the coat unwearable.
Too bad since I have always considered Carhartt products as a good value.

Great rain jacket
I bought this to replace a 10 year old Carhartt rain jacket that i loved. I was worried the new jackets wouldn't be as good but they're actually better! Really nice quality and great fit.

Good, Quality Rain Jacket
I recently bought this jacket and pants for football season. I hate coaching while soaking wet. Carhartt is a reliable company that sells good products. I knew what I was getting. So far the jacket holds up in the rain and it is pretty breathable so you don't overheat. I would recommend if you're looking for a good rain jacket.

I ordered this jacket for my grandson. He was so excited and he didn't want me opening the package when it finally came. After showing it off to everyone I now have to buy another jacket for his father. They're both like that it was waterproof.
