If the shoe fits... Good solid work shoe, and they look nice too. Size is accurate. A bit tough to break in, but they last a while. I don't care much for the insole, so I always put a Dr. Scholl's insole in, but other than that these are great. This is my 3rd pair; I go through a pair about every 6 months, but I wear them literally almost every single day. For me, the only part that really wears out is the sole, it wears down to nothing so there's no traction. However, I've never worn a hole through the toe or the heel, and these shoes have never fallen apart on me. I'd recommend them.

Awesome Shoe My boyfriend enjoys these Romeos better than the other brand he usually gets, even though they are a bit more expensive.

It's a nice boot but running a little narrow, even on the wide ones I ordered. Very slippery in bad weather too. I like the appearance and i think once they are broke in better i will like them more.

It looked better than the pictures. Comfortable and easy to put on and slip off. They have excellent traction in snow and on ice

Almost perfect but one HUGE flaw and one minor one Looking for a easy slip on/off shoe or boot for everyday and station wear. Waterproof is a necessity and I strongly prefer a welted outsole so this romoe looked ideal. They arrived yesterday and I really want to like them. They look nice, have a very comfy foot bed and fit pretty good. A little loose in the ankle but I know I have rather thin calves compared to many guys my size. A noticeable amount of heel slip when new but I can't say whether that would improve with break in or not. The leather is of obvious quality and heavily oiled with a nice hand to it. I expect it would be VERY water resistant and should break in nicely. Stitching of the uppers as well as the soles looks strong without flaws.
My major gripe, though, is the outsole. Looks like a knock off of the Vibram Gum-lite blown rubber outsoles that have become popular on many lighter weight boots and shoes. Thats fine, the gum-lite works well although it has worn quickly for me in the past. Unfortunately this knock off outsole feels VERY slippery. Even just feeling them with your hand they feel slippery. Wearing them inside my house with laminated faux-hardwood flooring they are noticeably squirmy and slippery. Not dangerously so but I am EXTREMELY suspect of how they would perform on smooth and wet bay floors or in icey and slippery conditions, I can't realistically test this out as I don't want ot wear them around and loose the ability to return; this slipperiness is a true deal breaker to me. Would using a real vibram sole be a bank breaker on this model? Or at least a grippier proprietary sole? Carhartt, if you are listening please switch to a better outsole! I would definitely buy this shoe and keep it if you do!
Overall I would rate this a 4-5 star shoe (depending on a longer term review) but the outsoles are a deal breaker at this point. 3 stars is fair because other people may not find that as important.

The elastic ankle band is not good. I really love these shoes except for the elastic ankle band, it cuts a mighty deep ring around my ankle. If you pull it up, it just rolls back into the shoe as you sock slides down. I'm not sure what the purpose of this is. If it's meant to keep snow out, then I would suggest that if you're plodding through more than 6 inches of snow, you should be wearing something more protective. Unfortunately it makes the shoe quite uncomfortable.
