Bring back the shorter inseam!
Always was able to get 28 inseam but now no longer available! Very frustrating to have to spend more on hemming! Please offer 28 " inseam again!

Unavailable sizes!!
My review has noting to do with the overall quality of the pants as I have always been very satisfied with the durability of them. My complaint is with size availability. Why is the shortest inseam a 30! I am 5'6" tall and I have always been forced to get the 30" inseam even though the crotch hangs 4" low and there is at least 4" of pant leg hanging over my feet because I could never find anything shorter. So I came to the website to try and order direct (which runs $10 more per pair then my local store) to find the size I need. I got excited to see that there were two options for 28" inseam, even though this would still be to long but better then 30". The problem is when you click on them to place an order there is no 28" option, I have worked with many people my height and even shorter. So the real question is why is there not a shorter inseam offered? I realize loosing my sales will not effect this company in the slightest, but don't you think they should have options for shorter workers? I would even be willing to pay more for a custom size, but once again there is no option for that. So I am sorry to say that after using the Carhartt brand for the last 10 years I will now be moving an to a company that can meet ALL of its customer needs.

Size frustration...
I'm vertically challenged and the formerly produced 28" length fit perfectly with no need for alteration. Went to buy a few new pairs and they are no longer available. Come on Carhartt, bring back the 28"s...

Something's different
I've worn these pants for 20 years now something isn't right. Why ruin a perfect pair of pants? The leg has way more of a taper now and the crotch from button to the bottom of zipper is way longer or something, All I know is something is different snd I don't like it, the over- alls too, no more button fly? A zipper in over- alls is just weird! Am I crazy or has anyone else noticed this?

Declining Quality
I have been a huge fan of Carhartt double front work dungarees for decades. I've owned several pairs and have had pairs last YEARS, until my most recent purchases. The most common lifespan, before this last purchase, was over 2 years. the new pants have a slightly different label that boasts "made in the USA" but I have only had this pair for about 3 months and they have already ripped out in the crotch and at the brass rivets. I am not sure if they are using a new material, but if so, Carhartt needs to go back to the original or I will have to start buying my work pants elsewhere.

Love em!
I am a locomotive engineer with BLE division 236, and these are my go to everyday work pants. The double front work dungarees wear hard, but are comfortable and utilitarian. Plus they look great, and have a rugged style about them. I often find myself wearing some of my cleaner/less broken in pairs outside of work! The best part is they are Union made by skilled American labor. I wish Carharrt would bring all their products back to the USA.

Great for motorcycle, too!
Best tough pants, ever. The double-front is perfect for kneeling in dirt and chainsawing.
These are my preferred motorcycle pants. Cell phone fits in right-hip tool pocket.
I recommend one size longer than your normal jeans since they do seem to shrink up...

Used to be a solid choice…not sure anymore
I have been wearing B01’s since 1998. I purchase them because they are union-made, they are bomb-proof, and they last longer than any pant at this price. I wear ‘em till they fall apart!
However, Carhartt–wtf is up with your quality control/pattern-makers?! I just received two new pairs of 31/32 (usually buy 30/32, but decided to see if 31 fit better since I’m like 30.5)…they are closer to 31/34! This happened with my last pair of 30/32, but washed them and they turned into a true 32 inseam. So I figured that would be the case with these, no joy. I’m at a loss at how to order these things anymore, it’s like a friggin’ crapshoot, and when you drop $100 on pants and then can’t return them; kinda makes me think I need to find a new favorite work pant.

not made in mexico
I have purchased several pairs of these pants locally in the last few years, they were all made in mexico. None of them fit right, the material wasn't the same(felt thin and wore out quick). I was told if i order direct they would be the good old double fronts I am used to, and low and behold they are made in USA and are much higher quality.

great work pants but horrible size consistency
I have been wearing double knees for more than 10 years. The durability of the pants and look of the pants is great. I have been in my current pant size of 34x32 for more than 6 of those years. I have maintained the same weight and height for those years. I have had multiple new pairs of pants now that do not fit. They are generally to tight when I receive them or to long or to short. I have tried washing them to see if they loosen up or shrink. It is disappointing because these are the best work pants by far and as a welder they hold up great. When I contacted Carhartt to discuss this issue they told me there pants run 1"-2" different in the waist. Unfortunately not being able to confidently order a set of pants online and where them to work when you receive them is a major downside. I love carhartt. I even got married in carhartts. It may be time to switch to a different brand if carhartt cant get there sizes down.

Colors
Have been wearing the gravel colored b01 for many years, currently have 5 pairs from just last year. Disappointed to find out they are no longer being made in this color . Was told in live chat to try b136 but those are outsourced from another county. Searching b136 shows varying results with fit and and finish on top of outsourced and not union made in USA . Until pants are restocked will be looking elsewhere for my work pants. Hope to see them come back for future purchases.

Just about done.
Am I going crazy?? I have loved these pants for years. I have always been a 34x32. As of last year a 34 was way too tight. Tried a 36 waist and that was like wearing mc hammer parachute pants and were way longer than my old 32 length carhartt pants. Just recently I stupidly bought another pair of 34x32. Waist fits fine but the length is out of control!!!! Also the pants are crazy baggy. Going to try 34x30. Yes I am very stubborn. Of those don't work I'm done with the carhartt brand. I hate the inconsistency of everything with a carhartt logo on it.

WAY! Too Small in the waist!
I've been wearing this type of Carhartt work pants for 30 plus years, I wear a 32x32 and need to use a belt.
I ordered 2 new pair recently, when I received them they were so tight in the waist... I couldn't even button them.
I returned them the next day, and will not order them again. will go to a store that has them to try on first.

Only pant I'll wear
I do landscaping work. I have owned two pairs of these pants for the last 6 months, alternating wearing them every other day. that is a lot of wear and a lot of washing. Neither pair of pants has developed a hole yet. the only noticeable wear is fading of the color.I will be buying more when or if these pants finally wear out.

WISH YOU MADE THESE FOR WOMEN!
I got these pants as an alternative to the womens work pants that I had been purchasing from Carhartt. It would take about 6 weeks for the womens pants to rip and tear from me wearing them and doing actual work (I'm a welder and metal fabricator). They would get so worn in the butt/crotch areas and the fabric would just shred.
So, I decided to give the men's pants a try and just get them tailored to fit my woman's body. As soon as I opened the package I noticed a stark difference in the quality of the material that the men's pants were made from in comparison to the women's pants. These pants feel much more durable and like I will actually get more than 6 weeks wear out of them. Thanks for making rugged pants, Carhartt, but I'm disappointed in the difference between your women's line of work pants and your men's line - and the fact I have to spend $20-$30 more to get the men's tailored to me. Also, I wish I could try on and purchase the women's line in a real life store.

Warning... Tall Rise
These pants are well made and very high quality. Unfortunately as with other Carhartt products, the sizing is all over the map. These pants have a very tall rise which is the distance from the crotch to the waist band. The waist size is similar to other Carhartt pants and other brands I wear and the inseam is true to the label, but because of the rise which is about 2 inches more than other pants, the cuffs rub on the ground. If I hike them up to my navel, the cuff height is right, but if you wear them normal, the "effective" inseam will be 2 inches too long due to the long rise distance. I bought these in-store and tried them on, but because they are very heavy stiff cloth and starched, I couldn't really tell if they were too long or not. I also own several other Carhartt pants, but not this model and they run just a bit too long (also due to a more generous rise) so I bought the inseam length I usually get. But when I got them home and washed them it was clear that they were way too long. A little checking with a tape measure showed that the inseam was correct, but the rise was much more (about 2 inches) than my other pants. It's frustrating that Carhartt doesn't put a warning on the label informing the purchaser of the tall rise.

Good pants but runs small
I bought these pants and I have others like it such as b136. I have 32x34 pants and the b136 fit amazing but these ones b01 are way to tight and the stitching is off. Doesn't make any sense because they're the same size. This happens a lot with carhartts. So don't buy online go and try them on because they're inconsistent with sizing. You can't trust them.

Sizing Changes in Recent Years?
I've been wearing the B01 Original Fit's since the late 1970's. Always worn a 30" inseam and they always fit. The last two pairs I've purchases in 2016 and now in 2018 both have the same issue. THEY ARE 3-1/ 4" too long on the inseams, Carhartt...WTH. I now have to spend $20 a piece to go to a seamstress to get them shortened. Carhartt, it's not just the product we buy, but we don't need to spend more money and TIME to get them to fit properly. Debating if I'll buy Carhartt again after this, even if I've been wearing them for 40+ years. Fix this problem Carhartt!

Disappointed
I can’t wear loose fit, way too big. I am big, not fat. I am walking around in my pajamas with these pants. 34x30 is my exact pant size and they’re totally different and 30 is the smallest inseam size. I have been wearing Carhartt since I could walk. Very upset.

Workin' for a livin'... wearing Carhartt while doin' it !
I've been a multi-decade wearer of Carhartt work clothes: insulated vests, bibs and jackets... stuff just gets better with age & wear ! Temperature drops to 40F and below... reach for the Carhartt !
How about above 40F ? The brand I used to wear (begins with a "D") has seriously lost quality both in hardware, fabric and assembly ! Time to look at Carhartt, with first priority being "Made in the USA" ! The four(4) pair of firm duck double-front dungaree I bought should tell you my decision !
Exactly as advertised; perfect 32x32 fit; high quality hardware (YKK zips are a must-have), fabric and beautiful assembly; proudly "Made in the USA and... EXCELLENT VALUE ! If the "gravel" and "moss" colors had been available in my size, I'd have bought two(2) each of them !
So Carhartt... How about making some 32x32 in Gravel & Moss ! While you're at it, how about making the insulated boot socks in size 7-9 as well size 10-12 instead of the gawd awful "one size fits all" 6-12 !

Cheaply made. At least these pants are.
I had these pants for about a month and half when they ripped from the back pocket all the way down to the back of my knee. I bent over to pull drywall while it was still on the cart and I hear them rip! Really disappointed with these pants I paid good money for.

Carhartt double front work pants
The fact that these pants are made in the US is a definite plus. However, the style is now ruined with the big, baggy, bulky loose fit. These pants are now cumbersome and It gives the feel of wearing a parachute around your legs. Designing work pants for the sake of fashion results in work pants that are unsafe in true working conditions, and unfit for what these pants were actually made for because they get caught on anything around.
I would like to go back to wearing your work clothes again if you would go back to functionality and durability instead of putting style ahead of safety.
The only other thing you could do to ruin these pants is to add that ridiculous stretch technology.

Oversized.
Well made. There’s oversight in sizing. If you’re lean and tall it’s a no-go. Only short inseam lengths are available in smaller waist sizes. And given that they run large with full leg and thighs, they seriously need to consider making at least a size 30 in 34 inseam length

Great product, reccommendation for improvement
These are the most durable pants on the market. When they eventually wear out after 2-3 years of heavy use, the first place to fail on mine, is above the boot laces. The constant rubbing on metal eyelets frays the material here. Don't get me wrong, by the time this happens catastrophic system wide thread failure is les than a year away.
How about re-enforcement under the front edge of the pant legs of a different material (nylon?) that can serve as chafing guard for the cotton?

I have been buying B01 pants for 20 years now and still love them as my favorite brand and style. I do with the web site would tell us when a color is discontinued. I really loved the grey B01 but I understand from the comments it's been discontinued. I would have bought a pile of 'em if I had known that!

Made in USA quality and toughness I thought were bygones!
Toughest work pant you'll own. I like them for working barbed wire and metal for out buildings where your thighs tend to catch a rough ride. You can stuff a little foam in the slot below the knee if you plan to be on a roof or kneeling on the hard floor/concrete. They fit try to size, and have room in the seat and legs to squat and bend, even with long underwear on. Head out through a thicket with underbrush and don't look back.

Staple.
They are so hard wearing that the only thing that manages to break them is the UV radiation of sunlight. They're my staple work pants and I've owned around 25 pairs through the years but never managed to even rip a belt buckle until the fabric is bleached white from wearing them (the inside stays the original color...). Super comfortable, union made, cheap (especially when considering quality and durability), look neat and presentable when dealing with clients and saved my knees and legs from a lot of scrapes, cuts and injuries.
Hard and stiff initially, but after a few washes and some wearing they soften up without losing their durability.

Proud to be american
Very happy with the dungarees, only wish that I would have found the made in the USA before now, I would not have spent my money on foreign made work pants, the price was great and the fact you employ 2,000 us employees and 900 are union makes me proud. The added bonus was the support of helmets to hard hats my union honors this countries service men and women in this wonderful program.

I am very happy with these dungarees. Always great to purchase a quality made in USA product. Fit and sizing was correct, appear to be made from a very durable fabric. Surprisingly comfortable! I expected them to be very stiff at first and take a while to break in, but very comfortable right from the first day.

QUALITY, BUY THEM!
The quality and durability of all Carhartt products is incomparable to any competitor. I've worn these pants forever and have loved them. Recently I purchased the Carhartt ripstop pants just to try something new. I was extremely unsatisfied after both knees and ankles tore through after the fist month of wearing them. I was disgusted after so much money was wasted toward a product that I had expected to last. These long lasting double front originals are the quality you'd expect from Carhartt.

Terrible sizing and unwearable
These pants appear to be well made but I sent them back immediately due to the terrible sizing. They were 2 inches big in the waist, 6 inches too long in the inseam and 3-4 inches long in the crotch. I can't believe how off they were, and a local store I shopped at instead confirmed the sizing is all over the place with Carhartt. Depending on the style and the country it comes from, you'll have to choose different sizes and see if it works.

almost great
I have two pairs, first pair ripped at the crotch after about 4 months of part time warehouse work and the other is fine. Both have been used for almost a year and they are good work pants. Love the double front and all the rivets.

Best Pair of work pants I've ever owned
I've had my Double-Front Work Dungarees almost 3 years now and they're still my go to pair for hard work outdoors. They're stiff and will hold creases in all the wrong places if you dry them improperly, but who cares about that when you're stretching fences, building sheds, riding ATVs, cutting wood, dirt work, or demolition work.

Brush Busters

Great pants, made in USA
Excellent quality and finish. Truly a value for a quality American made pant. These pants would sell at twice he price. My only issue in that they are a tad long for the stated length. They do shrink after the first wash and dry. I'm sure it's difficult to get exact shrinkage to spec with so many variables in the washing and drying process.

Great work pants!
If you need a pair of work paints that will do in any situation, these are your pick. They are very warm, especially with some long johns, I have yet to tear or wear a hole in them, and they wash very clean. i would recommend these to anyone.
If you are tall get a slightly longer length than normal.

Best work pants
These are my daily work pants, tough and comfortable. These "wear like iron" and will last longer than any other work pant. I currently own several pair's but have been wearing this style for more than 20 yrs. They havent changed since I saw my first pair. A trick I learned from the old timers to make them last longer is too not wash them.
This person is part of our Field Testing program and may have received this product for free. We operate one of the most rigorous field testing programs in the business.

Well let’s see. 1 has a zipper that won’t work very well. The two pairs of pants are supposed to be the same size. They are NOT. I do not want loose fit. My husband is big not fat. I have been a customer for over 20 years. Disappointed.

Honest pants
I’m 6’0 and range from 230-240 lbs . I order 36x 32 and it’s a little baggy for about the first 5 washes and then they fit like a glove . I usually order 36x32 in most pants . Waist fits the same as regular jeans but the length is longer in the carhartts just by a bit. If worn with regular shoes they will overlap a bit . With boots it’s a perfect fit .

As always great!
I have warn this pant for the better part of 20 years. Durability is great. Fit is a little bit larger then sized. Through out the years of service cell phone tech have obviously changed. With the bigger smart phone I some times need to make a small slice in the right leg pocket to get the phone in. Being a creature of habit I can't seem to carry my phone elsewhere.

Not just for construction workers
As a kitchen worker I need pants that are going to hold up to heat,cold, cuts, bending and kneeling. These cover all those tasks. I must own 3-5 pairs at this point, but my first are still kicking it 7 years later and are still my favorite.

Too Small
Unfortunately they either shrank when I put them in the dryer (although they were already air dried), or they fit small in the waist. I can’t even wear my brand new pair and I’m highly disappointed that I didn’t try them on before I took all the tags off.

Best Farm Pants Ever.
These have been the best purchase I have made for farm pants. They where a little stiff to get them broken in but after rolling around on the ground and bucking some hay it was great to have them. They are strong enough that when kneeling you don't feel the sharps rocks as bad.

Love these pants, a must have if you wear through pants quickly.
I put these pants to the test every time I wear them. They are durable and practical for people who are tough on clothes. I would recommend these pants to any hard working person whose jeans just don't hold up to the riggors of a hard day in the field. They're a little stiff at first but loosen up after a few washings. You won't be disappointed.

If you work hard for a living and want a quality pair of britches, then look no further.
Hands down the toughest pair of britches on the market. I tried the fire blows pants, but those were toast within a week. I get at least a year out of the Carhartt B01s. Once they are broken in they become the go to for comfortable pants. Durable 6 stars, I had a chainsaw guard snap when cutting down a tree, no chaps (my own fault), full throttle the chain slapped my leg, I thought for sure I was going look down to a wound.... nope, the pants had a small tear, from what could have been a life changing event. Thank you Hamilton Carhartt!

Carhartts are made for people who get things done
I have worn Carhartts for years. They are almost indestructible. They're an icon of the working person, a category I admire as being role models for the kind of real work that will always need to be done by someone. Even though a granny, I love to build things of wood, forge steel, chop wood, and all that healthy and productive activity. Carhartts are made for people who really get things done.

My work pants of choice
Ive been using these pants for years. I am a finishing carpenter/cabintmaker/furniture maker and they are by far my favourite for what i do. The first thing that wares out on these guys is the crotch. I wish crotch of the pants were a little more flexible. One pair usually lasts me 1 to 2 years.

Been wearing them for 35 years now. (Not the same pair of course)
I've been wearing these on the job now for 35 years, and they are well worth the money. If only they had reinforcing on the tops of the front pockets and the bottom of the right side pockets I would be able to give them 5 stars. Hoping to see these improvements sometime down the road.

I have no legit reason to own these, but I have them anyway.
I wear these sometimes when I'm riding my motorcycle and pretending to be somewhat safety-conscious (i.e. it's not too hot outside). I'm not a construction worker or anything like that, but these look way better than Village People-esque leather chaps while still being quite a bit more versatile and functional than leather chaps.

comfortable and durable
These pants are great for work I put knee pad inserts in the double knee which are great for carpentry or any work where you are down on your knees a lot. It took two years for the double knee to blow out, im hoping the next layer takes another two years. Very impressed with the comfort and durability in the same product, my only complaint is that they are a little too warm in the summer

Break in your own pants!
Tough no nonsense work pants. Double knee holds knee pads. The "firm" un-washed duck is tough to break in but fit like your favorite pants in the end. Worth the price.
I've tried the other brands and styles and keep coming back to the classics.

Great for work.
Finally bought my first pair and boy am I happy about that. They definitely have some weight to them not really a bad thing though. You can feel the quality when wearing them. Love the tool pockets, will definitely be buying more in the future.

USA Made Work Pants
These pants actually last. I work construction, and these are the only pants that i have found that will last me a year per pair. The double knee really holds up. These just need to be washed 2 or 3 times before you wear them first. Great motorcycle riding pants as well, just before of the rivets.

More sizes needed
I really like your pants but I am tall and skinny. I wear a 29X38 and I really wish you would offer even a 36 inch inseam with the 29 inch waist. I have to get the pants altered, and add to the inseam length. I feel like ever manufacturer of work pants thinks all workers are short and fat. Overall great product and I plan to continue buying pants and having them altered, until a manufacturer decides to make a pant for tall skinny people.

Great pants. Double front is great for any job that requires you to be on your knees. They do take a long time to get worn in, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Highly recommend. But if you want the same thing already worn in (to some extent) go for the B136 style.

Heavy Duty, Fit Well, Allow for Full Working Movement
I have tried to purchase things from Carhartt before, mostly jackets, and they never had my size. I'm a small guy, pants size 29x30, so I was concerned these wouldn't fit me. BUT, they are GREAT!
Sizing-wise, usually 29's are slightly tight on me. But 30's are too big so I go with 29's. Well these are 29's and fit me comfortably. Not tight. So I'd say they fit a tiny bit big but when I say tiny bit I mean tiny bit. Nothing a belt doesn't fix.
The day they arrived I put one of these on and worked for 72 hours in them cause we had an emergency come up. And let me tell you, they take the work like champs! I used to buy jeans to work in exclusively, and all the popular brands always wore through at the knees and then in the crotch within about 2-3 months due to the strains of my job. Plus all their "modern" fits restricted my movement. These are comfortable, allow movement. And I have confidence these will last much, much longer.

Too loose. Style changed.
Used to be the best pants. The quality is still absolute top notch. BUT theyve changed these to a loose fit. I have an old 30×32 and decided to get the same size in the new "loose fit" i shrink dried them and theyre twice the width of my old pair, literally. Way too loose. A little dissapointing because i wore and bought them all the time..

Not so happy!
When I first ordered these pants I was stoked to get them, wore them twice and washed them according to the directions on the tag and when I took them out of the wash the color faded in a marbling fashion, not acceptable when you are paying $50 a pair!!!! I ordered the brown and black ones in size 31x30 and they both did the same thing!

Stiff as a board when new, but tough as nails until you wear them completely out. My last 2 pairs lasted through four seasons of wood cutting and tractor work before the double fronts wore through.

Hard working pants
These pants look great when new. They are very stiff if you get the firm duck. So long as you know that no big deal. The cotton is a very impressive weight it has held up to every type of abusive job i have thrown at it. Working on cars, construction, tree trimming, hiking through thorn bushes, and I even where them out to dinner before i stain them up to bad with grease or oil.

I would definitely recommend this product as a material handler at work these pants help keep me safe and efficient able to put my tools that I use in the side pockets easy access.

Tough as hell
This is the third pair of these I have purchased and use them mainly for hunting Morel mushrooms and also for Deer hunting. The heavy brush and thorn bush are no match for these. Very high quality, my last pair of these lasted 15 years. A great investment in a high quality pair of pants

I am a teenager and work on a farm, the pants are very durable and i love them, the only problem is that they are a little to stiff and there too long. i need shorter pants the other websites I have looked at are the right length but the durability is horrible. rise or fit issues w/B01?
This pair of B01 are my most frustrating pants! They won't stay up! Last ones did. Other brands stay up, but it seems these have a low rise and tiny butt, so slip down constantly, regardless of belting. No jokes about my butt! From TS, made in Mexico, they don't seem to have the ample seat and high rise as described here by Carhartt. I get less work done - I'm forever swearing and pulling them up! Also, my iPhone wore a hole through the front pocket, which I've patched, and the cuffs are already threadbare. They still look new otherwise.

I bought what for me are new colors, Gravel and Moss, in B01 style and they seem much softer and comfortable right off the bat opposed to the black or brown ones.
I would definitely recommend the B01 style as they are durable and the new colors look great and are more comfortable.

Excellent but disappointing
These were almost going to be my favorite pants. They were super comfortable and really nice and they fit excellent. They are true to size and just awesome. The price was comparable to other pants for this purpose. And they're made in the USA which was good I thought.
However, after wearing them twice to work, and washing them once, and air drying them, they have a tiny little tear. I'd expect better with American made goods, but evidently that is not the case. I'm pretty disappointed with this hole, but its not noticeable and they are still comfortable. The color bled fast too, which is expected. I work for the railroad in a diesel house, so it was not like I was sitting on ballast or anything, just working on motors and generators. Dirty work, but everything is far to heavy to put on my lap to cause such a little hole. Again, I guess this is how American made goods are now.

Real work clothes
I run a landscape company and work outside in rugged conditions. The carhartt pants and shirts stand up to my punishing work requirements. I have tried other brands and nothing lasts as long or holds up as well as carhartt. They are also great at repelling stains so I keep a professional appearance on the job.

The Best!
I have no complaints on these pants. Very well made and durable. My advice it to get waist size & length 1"or 2" larger on waist and inseam for it will shrink. My advice on the initial wash is not to place them in dryer. Let them air dry. If they are too loose, then during the second wash, place in dryer on mediium. Keep jobs in the USA and buy USA. Too bad they don't make them in dark blue.

I love the feel and fit of this product. However, This is the second pair I have had to buy this year due to wear and tear on the initial pair. Holes developed near the vertical edge of the double-front (around the side of the shin) on my old pair due to heavy use and rubbing against rubber boots that are required in the brewery.
I think these are great pants for my application, but I would love to see some more testing on durability, especially in the realm of resistance to mild acids.

Surviver pants! Most durable.
My 3 men have been wearing these pants for over 10 years. They last the longest of any, have lots of pockets, and are useful for keeping a hammer near.

Super Rugged Slacks that look good at work

Get you a pair
I've literally had these for 5 years now, and have seen everything from chemical spills, countless hours crawling through crawl spaces and attics, freezing temps, scalding heat, hundreds upon hundreds of washes, multiple career changes, and we're still rolling. I've got one 3 holes in them, but the one on the knee doesn't even count because the knees are double padded. The other two are at the ankles. Mines are a little longer than they probably should be, so my next pair I'll try to get them more true to size. Other than that there's no better work pants in my opinion. The hammer loop is ideal on the left leg. I hate when they're dirty and I'm forced to wear my job issued Dickies.

Outstanding work pant, why no FR rating?
I have used these for work for over 12 years and still haven't found a single (doublefront) pant that is as durable as the Carhartts. I used to buy two sets a year, but the company I work for updated their safety program and now requires us to wear Arc Flash Rated clothing( at least 8 cal/cm2).
why isn't there a version of the firmhand ringspun duck Doublefront pants offered in Fire Resistant or Arc Flash rated? many of my co-workers and I can no longer wear these as they aren't supplied with a FR value. Even if these were tested as they are and severely underrated they would still work as we only need 8 cal/cm2 as a minimum. I sure hope Carhartt starts offering these to people that have to have FR pants. is there anything like this in the works?

Held up better than other brands Ive tried. I work in the maritime industry and anything that can last over 6months is a good investment. Can get about a year out of 2 pair rotating them. Work boots put a hole in the back of the legs which was a pain. Waist ran small, I use 36" with belt for all regular clothes but these in 36" were very tight after washing and only loosened up after a few days but still tight.

Tough pants
I've thrown a lot at these pants: dirt, grease, oil, sparks, etc; and they've withstood it all. The knees are double-walled, but the fabric is so durable that I probably won't need the inner layer for a while now. These run large, but don't expect them to shrink.

Clothing companies don't like short people!
Started buying Carhartts in 1974 as an apprentice ironworker. Been wearing them for a long time. Later in life move to the bibs. Bought the 28 in length so the hems didn't snag on the iron. Now that I am retired I feel naked if I am not wearing a pair of Carhartt's but I am stuck with 30 in legs. Wish you still offered 28's.
Being retired I am now able to spend a lot more time riding my motorcycle. Riding on my wallet gets painful after a couple hundred miles. Wondering if Carhartt might consider offering their duck jeans and bibs with cargo pockets. Personally I would buy them. Maybe some of you reading this could comment.

Feel like they will last
They feel very high quality and fit true to size. One draw back is that they sit high on your waist(at the belly button). If you like your pants to sit on your hips they may not be for you. I broke them in with three days of tree climbing and have washed tem twice. They still feel as if theyd stand up on their own. They are heavy duty to say the least.

Best Pants I've Owned - Pair After Pair For Over 20 Years.
I Highly Recommend these pants. I bought my first pair for my first Job after High School, back when they were only available in Duck-Brown. Now I buy them in Black. I cannot speak for other people but these pants have always fit me perfectly. I've gained weight and lost weight with my waist varying from a 38 to a 42, and now down to a 36 - and no matter what my size, the pants just always fit me perfectly. I wear my old beat up pairs casually. They have a distinct different look with the double-knees and I like it. I've owned a number of different Carhartt products, and have always been pleased with them. But these pants are the best of all. Just incomparable. Try a pair and you'll come back to buy them over and over again. They're tough as armor and always look cool.

Been wearing carhartt forever from jackets to socks and everything between. These firm duck pants are for work they are meant to be worked on...if you want something a little less stiff buy the washed pants. This is why I buy Carhartt cuz they offer such a variety but most of all they offer there firm duck work clothes meant to be tough! Now I only buy the clothes that say MADE IN THE USA from carhartt ! Keep the tuff clothes carhartt never compensate for less cuz the reputation of CARHARTT is built on hard work!

Durable, comfortable and roomy
I purchased these pants for hunting in Texas. After spraying a little "Camp Dry" on them they have prooven to be as good or better then any other hunting pants I have worn. The double front helps protect your legs from the stickers and thorns that we have down here.

Amazed
I have had several pairs of these pants and put the to the test. I am a welder and these pants resist the heat and bleaching effect that is caused by the arc. I have tried other pants but the color always bleaches out of them. I would and will by more of these. I still have a pair from almost ten years ago that are still wearable.

Pretty solid work pant
I always have trouble finding good pants, especially work pants. Normally I get to choose whether they fit in the thigh or in the waist, but surprisingly these fit both very well. I wish they were cut slightly larger in the thigh area for myself, but for a person with normal sized legs they should work perfectly. I wear between size 36 and 38 waist and 34 or 36 length. For those wondering, they are meant to sit high on the waist, almost to the naval, which is why some people complain of them having low cut crotches. A note about their durability, I own two pair of these, the first pair got two small holes around the ankle from rebar tie the first day on the job. Other than that they other sign of real wear is in the pocket for a Tape
Measure, and also around the ankle where they bunch up and rub. I've worn these pants for 16 hours a day for the past month working with concrete, and must say I'm extremely impressed. The double front really helps to reinforce the knee. The only two criticisms I have about these pants are that they are advertised as being able to accept knee pads inside the double front knee, but since they are so long and the clean out hole so small, I doubt that would work very well. Even with the 5.11 military style foam knee pads meant to go in military trousers. And the last thing I would say is extra reinforcement in the crotch, for most pants at least for me that is the first place they fail, normally before the knee or pockets. But other than that, these are a top notch work pant!

Size for Giants
I love this style and durability of these pants for working. The problem I have is that I'm big AND tall. Nobody seems to do both at the same time. I'm 6'7" I need a 48-50 with a 36" inseam. I'd buy them unhemmed even. Love to hear it if there is a different site with them

They have so much potential.
I ordered some double front dungarees to go hiking and do other general work. I love the general aesthetic and the durability/functionality of the double knee. Extra durable, super tough, and very high quality build. The only thing that kept this review from being 5 stars across the board is the fact that it feels like I'm wearing parachute pants every time i move. Id LOVE these if they came in a slimmer fit, but until a slimmer fit in the double front is available(hopefully in black) i probably wont be ordering again. To reiterate, the quality is amazing. The parachute pant fit is not.

Came online to purchase a couple new pairs of my favorites and found that gravel color is discontinued. It's a shame that an American product like this is another casualty. I have been buying this color and style for 15 or so years 2 or 3 pair a year. Getzs please pass this along to the folks at Carhart.

Classy, and stiff enough to walk themselves out the door
I love these pants. Breaking them in was fun. Had a black pair for 2 years, and it took a year before signs of significant wear were seen. In the end the fabric on the inner thighs wore through first (-1 durability), rather than the pant hems or pocket edges (-1 quiality). And I'm not even mad.
I wish these pants were offered in inseams less than 28in. The toughness of the duck canvas makes sewing a new seam difficult. It's a blessing and a curse.
I'f you're going to wear these in winter, I highly recommend getting a slightly larger size to account for any clothing base layers you tuck in.

I use Carhartt jeans for my work pants but I am going through them more often so I figured I’d try these. I vary in size with jeans based on my current strength level, rotating between 30 and 31’s throughout the year. Since being injured my work pants sizing hasn’t moved from 30x30 my 31’s have been in the back of the drawer. I bought these in 30 30 and they were great until I washed them now I feel like I’m cutting my circulation. I’ve never had duck shrink this much, at least in my jackets, I’m new to the pants. Pretty upset I’m hoping maybe they’ll stretch and I just won’t dry them ever again. I love everything about them.

I am very happy with my double-front work dungarees. I do a great deal of shoveling--sometimes bracing my arm against my thigh--and I wore out my single-fronted dungarees at that place. As a bonus, these dungarees are MADE IN AMERICA! I always will pay a premium for products made in America.Happy gardener

Well made and practical.
I have made Carhartt’s double front pants my workwear choice since I started my electrical apprenticeship, twenty one years ago. The built in knee pad option offers handy, comfortable knee protection that is unmatched. A guy I worked with, went as far as to sew across, near the top of the double front, to create a handy glove pocket. I use it for my wire strippers. I’ve always wondered why the hammer loop is on the left, since not everyone is left handed. There should be an option for the right side. I suspect they’re not quite as beefy as they used to be. The quality and sturdiness of the old cotton duck fabric, just isn’t there. My only other complaint is, you guys don’t make them short enough. I have to cuff them twice. As those of us with smaller frames, enter the trades or simply want well made clothing to go about out daily activities, I really think you would do well to offer shorter length options. Also more color options would be nice.

Awesome Work Pants
These are what Carhartts used to be, before they started having them made overseas, especially in China. These USA made pants are of great quality, fit perfectly, and have great "staying power". If I can't get USA made Carhartts, I will NOT buy them at all!

The Gold Standard in work pants.
I didn't realize Carhartt made these in my size. I've looked around at some stores over the years but they never had my size. So I decided to buy online. I tried on a couple of other pairs of Carhartt pants in the store to check the sizing; it was right on! What can I say; I love 'em; will definitely buy again should they ever wear out!

Tough pants, excellent value
I've worn the US made B01 pants for 10+ years. Every now and again I try another "work" pant, however I'm always left disappointed. I know some folks might scoff at the $50 price tag, however when you take into account how long these last, you are actually saving money. In my experience, standard jeans and $25 "work" pants are completely thrashed in 3-4 months. The B01 pants typically give me 2-3 years of daily service until they are retired. Do the math. Plus, they are made in the USA. Bonus.

Great work Pants
i bought these for work and side projects since i do a lot of manual labor, where other work pants used to last me maybe 6 months before ripping i have had mine for over 10 months with only so much as a slight color change and slight wear marks. highly recommend

Tough work pants
This is probably the 10th pair I have purchased. They are hands down the toughest pants I have found. Takes a while to soften up and not be so stiff. Double Fronts offer good protection. I wear my new pairs as dress pants but my wife is not so keen on that. You don’t buy these for being trendy.

Durable and affordable
My husband is a farmer and mechanic. Hes in mud, grease and worse all day long. His work clothing takes a beating every day. From climbing around, in and under tractors and combines, to welding metal and fabricating parts, he does it all. All by himself. We are a small family farm. We value our money and mind a tight budget. Any of the double front logger carhartt denim or duck jeans are well worth the price. He can normally get 3 years of wear out of them. Barring he doesnt drop hot welding slag or battery acid on them. Other brands may not hold up 6 months let alone a year! He has another brand on right now that we picked up because he needed a nice unstained pair for a social event. Of course he ended up working on them. Bought them two months ago and the crouch is already ripping and separating at the seam. We wont pick up anything but Carhartt Logger jeans from now on. It just isnt worth it. Finally pants that fit!
These aren't the kind of pants you wear around your butt, these are cut like pants SHOULD be! No crack showing here! They sit at my actual waist (a little under the naval, but above your hip bones) and allow for great mobility without feeling like I'm showing my rear-end. The double knee is great - I've only blown through one layer of knee so far, and even then the hole is tiny. These are the only work pants I'll ever buy and I hope that they never change the material (feels like armour!) the cut (they aren't jeans!) or where they're made.
Covering the back rivets would be nice though. But dont remove them! I'm just tired of scratching things when I get a bit too close.

No big steps
My only problem with these pants are a person Can’t take wide steps or climb ladders easily. Other wise they are strong and comfy. If they could fix that problem I would probably wear the everyday.

Very Happy!
Have worn Carhartt's for many years. I am a welder and the cotton duck seems to hold up pretty well considering. I recently purchased some "firehose" pants with cargo pockets and they have the double knee/front. So when I saw these Carhartt pants with the double front I thought I would give them a try. More material to burn through and they'll last longer is my thinking. Fit. I am a 34 x 30. 34 is generally falling off loose but these were just right where no belt is needed but not pouring yourself into them. The length is a bit longer unless I have shrunk, which could be the case as I am getting older. I have not measured how much longer but guessing an inch or two as I can walk the cuff with my heel walking around the house in my socks. Seem to be alright when wearing my work boots though. Fit and finish of the pants looks good. The double front looks tough and I foresee many years of use out of these. The right side belt loop needs work. I wear keys on a hook that hangs off the belt loop to the right. To far forward and you fight to get stuff out of your pocket. To far to the rear and your keys are hanging off your right butt cheek. The happy place is directly centered on your torso, left or right side. This however is just nit picking as overall the pants are great and have held up good so far over the last few weeks. I was also surprised to see "Made In USA" on these pants. One good reason I will be buying more of these. Now, I only wish they had cargo pockets then that would be perfection!!

Now that Carhartt !!! A great iconic dungarees that is part of the great heavyweight work line of clothing known as Carhartt. Solid built with more comfort wash after wash. Strong enough to handle rough jobs but still has the looks for casual wear. Great fit with the reliability of protection from the double knee.

Stiff, but awesome
These pants are exactly what I thought they would be. I ordered a size up so I could wash them and dry them and not worry about any shrink, they did shrink, slightly (maybe an inch in the waist and 1/2 an inch on the length), but drying them with tennis balls is the way to go. It softens them enough they don't stand up on their own anymore. I love them. I work all year in them, break them in, let them get good and dirty, then in the fall I use a sharpie to put some different colors on it, and sit in the dove field all fall.

Now that I have wore nothing but the Made in USA Double Fronts for over a year I will never wear anything else to work. Very comfortable, love the bigger pockets and flexibility. These pants were just made to work.

Just got'm. First impressions are solid. Ran a bit small, but I'm thicker in the thighs. If you're a regular size bloke they should run true to size. I even got a pair that were suppose to be too large.

Waist small, inseam long
I now own three pair of these pants. In every case, the waist is smaller than I expected; so if you want to tuck a heavy shirt inside, go big (at least one inch). Also, in every case the inseam is nearly two inches longer than expected - more than enough to cover work boots, even while kneeling. However, I will get them hemmed to avoid having to cuff them.

Brush pants
I purchased the double front for brush busting grouse in northern Wisconsin. I am very happy with the performance, durability and comfort. The pockets are handy for cell phone, compass, wallet and glasses . I recommend a size larger than your normal size to allow for shrinkage. I am normally a 32 “inseam but ordered 34” in order to counter the ride up that occurs when going through thick cover. Unless you like the extra gear, you can do away with chaps here. These are a very durable and practical way to go and will be my favorite go to pants for years to come and look forward to getting a few seasons behind them.

Farmer and Carhart Dungarees
This is my Farmer husband's third set of two pairs of these pants. They are wonderfully durable but he does wear them out above the double knee by handling square bales of hay almost daily. My only complaint is trying to get all the chaff and other debris out of his front pockets when it is time to wash them.

Excellent choice
It has been a long time since I looked for a pants which resists the hard conditions of construction site. And here we are, I found it! The lining on the top gives some more of body and does not keep for all the heat. I recommend them in all those who works on rough!

Love the jeans.
I love these jeans they are the only jeans that i buy. The double knee helps allot when i work on my car and have to get on the ground allot. They outlasted every other pair of jeans in the past that i bought and they are nice and comfortable keep you warm in the winter and just plain look good.

The original is the best
The 01 is the best work dungaree you can get. Word to the wise though. If you have thick thighs like me, try a few different sizes on to find the ones that give you extra room around the thigh. They will shink a slight amount and be uncomfortable. Once you pick the size that fits right you'll be happy for a long time. Oh yeah, hang dry them too, they last longer. Little stiffer, but longer life.

My husband loves these pants
My husband is a professional flooring installer and he roughs up the knees of all his jeans. The double knees work wonders in his line of work. Every two years I purchase him two new pairs and it takes just that long for him to wear them out. Well worth the money.

Ironworker Tough!
I've been an ironworker for 20 years, so I've seen my share of work pants. These double kneed dungerees last forever. I'd match them aginst any brand on the market. I spend alot of time cuting with a torch,weding and ofcourse climbing iron and they just plain old hold up!

Double knee work dungaree
The best work pants I have ever owned, The pants are exceptionaly durable in every way. I work in construction and I am up and down on my knees all day long. The double knee realy helps these pants last for ever, with or without knee pads. I love having all the carpenters tool pockets, it allows me to keep all my tools with me all the time. I know when I wake up and slide into my Carhartt work dungaree's it is going to be a great day. Not only do they look stylish they perform flawlesly anytime I wear them.

Great for Stagehands
These are the ultimate in stagehand wear. They will keep their color and the double knees help out when on the stage floor. Belt loop positions are perfect for wearing your maglight and Gerber off to the sides. When working under blue lights, this is a blue black, not a red one.

Best pants I have ever worn
I work on the side of a mountain. In high winds and swirling snow my workday begins before the sun is up. The best part of these pants, besides my first layer against the elements, the pockets. I have a place for my knife and flashlight and most important, my keys. Because nothing is worse than being stuck looking for your keys in three feet of snow in the middle of a storm.

Tough Pants
What can you say about these pants that everybody doesn't know....they're pretty much the signature Carhartt pants.
The brown color is great for working outdoors, because mud and dirt don't show on them. You don't have to worry about mud stains--not that anyone cares about a few stains on a pair of Carhartts (they aren't broken in good until they have a few stains!).
The fabric's amazingly tough--heck, these pants laugh at barbed wire fences! I'm not saying you can't ever snag 'em--but you aren't likely to put more than a small snag and that just shows a bit of character!
The double knees are great, too. With the thick fabric they do a great job keeping the stickers from tearing up your legs when you're bushwhacking through the woods. And, if you ever grind them on enough concrete and rock to wear a hole in the knee, there's a second layer of fabric just waiting for a turn at the action. The same goes for the bottom half of the rear pockets--if you wear them long and hard enough to put a hole in the back pocket, you don't have to worry about losing your wallet because the second layer of fabric is ready for duty.
There's a reason about the first thing anyone says when you mention Carhartt pants is "Yeah man, those things are nearly indestructible".

CONSISTENCY OF SIZE/MADE NO MORE IN A 52 OR A 54 (OR BIGGER)
This a WONDERFUL product. I need a size 52, and have had to go to another site to find them in my size. Why aren't these made in 52 or 54 (or larger) any more?
Also: these in a 52 work very well for me. But there are other pants of yours that I have tried (the B11) and the 52 was to small, and I had to return 5 pairs and re-order them in a 54. Why the size inconsistency?

Things I would change
Jeans material is great. The only thing I would change would be the fit. Nowadays everyone is wearing skinny & fitted jeans, so that would be a good change. Also the various designs for exampl.... stone wash, ripped etc

These pants so super stiff no matter how you wash or dry them. Also they look well used (different colors on front panels) after 3 washes. Warm and never rip but not comfortable at all.
