A great extra layer, Carhartt's duck vest is made of 12 ounce, firm-hand, 100% ring-spun cotton duck. For warmth, it features a nylon lining quilted to arctic-weight polyester insulation, plus a rib-knit collar and, in back, a drop tail. Other features include a front zipper with wind flap, a convenient inside patch pocket with hook-and-loop closure, and front hand-warmer pockets.

SUIT OF ARMOR
If they awarded Nobel Prizes for work clothes this would be the winner. It is impossible to wear them out. I have been wearing them for over 25 years and have never torn a pocket or ripped a seam. The zipper has never jammed or jumped the track.It has never even lost a pull tab. I wear them from September to April , all day ,every day. The long tail keeps your backside covered even when stretching or reaching , but is still comfortable getting in and out of the truck. I usually order a size up and layer under it. It is the most versatile article of clothing ever designed. The quality is unmatched, they are so rugged and substantial that you almost have to break them in like a new stiff boot. I can't go a winter without one. I rely on it so much that in the event of a fire I would save the dog first, then my vest!

I grew or it shrunk
Being a large man I was excited that this vest came in a 4xl tall. The vest was a bit stiff straight out of the bag but I didn't care and I could work around it. I wore my "armored" vest for 2 weeks and decided it needed a wash and this is where the problems happened. I pulled my fresh washed vest out of the dryer and find out that I grew two sizes. Well either I grew or my vest shrunk. I have never had a Carhartt product shrink that much.

Bullet proof

Super Warm Heavy Duty Vest
I have owned two of these vests. Both have been super warm and well made. Heavy YKK zipper. Large warm lined pockets. Inside pocket with velcro close at top. The quilted lining is very warm. Great for putting over a sweatshirt. A bit bulky and stiff to wear a jacket over it but can be done. I gave it 4 starts in comfort due to it being stiff and rides up when driving or sitting.

Great quality.
After reading the size chart, I ordered the Duck Vest. When it arrived, I was surprised that it fit like a shirt…no room for a thermal + shirt. So a larger size was ordered and all was well. The return process was smooth and painless! I would recommend this Vest to anyone!!

I love this vest
I've had this vest for a few yrs now, its cozy. I like it cuz I can regulate my temperature when I wear it. I pair it with a Carhartt zip front hoody (k22) on warmer days or a heavyweight hoody(k182) on cooler days. As the day warms up I can wear just the vest with a T. Vest has a longer tail which is great to keep your lower back covered but you'll have to unzip if your going to be sitting, the long tail pushes the vest up some when driving or operating equip.

Love the arctic lining
I like the vest for working outside and for walking in winter. Great comfort and warmth. My only complaint is it is a little too long. When I sit down the vest rides up around my chin and back of neck. Otherwise, the vest is great.

Pleased with purchase!
Received it last week but it hasn't been cold enough, up here in Canada, to wear yet! The fit is good, yes a little stiff but understandable, its brand new. I'm sure after some consistent use it will work in nicely. Overall I'm impressed with the quality but as for durability I will have to let you know, after some prolonged use. All in all just like to say thanks and look forward to some future shopping, at Carhartt.

A must have for us
I ordered 12 of these for my carpenters. We used the Carhartt sizing chart and all of them fit the guys as intended. Due to our climate we usually layer with long sleeve t-shirts, hoodies, and the vests. They work great, are durable as hell and loved by the crew.

Good, Not Great
This is a good vest, but for me it has one flaw which keeps me from calling it great. This vest would be greatly benefitted by having a two-way zipper. It would be highly desirable to be able to unzip it a few inches from the bottom when seated. Cotton duck is very stiff, especially when new, and this vest tends to push upward when you are seated. Anyone who has worn an arctic quilt lined Duck Traditional Coat (Carhartt style #C003) will know what a benefit being able to unzip the bottom is under certain conditions, such as being seated. This vest also really needs that capability--but it lacks the two-way zipper of the C003 (and some other Carhartt products). This vest could still be a nice purchase if you plan on wearing it mostly standing on your feet.

Just What I'm Looking For!!
This vest is the perfect fit for me.....it is tough, strong and durable. Since I hunt alot , this vest is

Staple vest from Carhartt
I have always bought this particular style because the fabric is extremely durable and the arctic quilt lining is so warm. I am 5' 9" at 160 lbs. so I"m a slim guy, I have always bought the size small and it always seemed to have been a little too small. I recommend sizing up on this one. Outstanding product nonetheless.

Great Vest
My husband's prior vest has worn out. He wanted one just like his old vest. So to Carhartt web site I looked. Found almost the exact duplicate. One difference...the new one has the storm flap which was not on his other vest. He is so pleased that he has the same type vest he was so accustomed wearing. My husband does not like change.
Pockets he wanted, especially the inside pocket. He has it!!! Thank you Carhartt.

Excellent Quality
We have traditionally purchased the bomber jackets for our employees, but one employee requested the vest instead. We ordered the vest and now several employees have requested the same item. The vests are very warm and made with excellent quality. They are extremely durable, yet still offer a great range of motion to the worker. We'll definitely be adding this product to our uniform list for years to come.

Durable and good quality

wash and fit
My husband is MR. Carhart...NOT KIDDING! We even bought a new red tshirt for Christmas! He has products in shipping packages for "rainy days". Never checked care instructions on recent vest because we've purchased many over time. WOW what a shock to find tall xl shrinkage, he can't wear it, far too tight. Compared old and newest care label to see the guidelines changed. Very disappointed but too busy to drive to Portland for exchange or hassle with shipping back. Careful to fellow CarHart fans! Gave it low rating because if this but normally would rate at 4

The best there is

I've wore this vest for years on my second season on a new one last year after the first one finally starting looking pretty used up. I can normally get 3 to 4 years out of them. Little stiff at first but after some use they break in good. thanks for making quality products

Great Product
It was for my son and he absolutely loves it. He has told me how much he likes it every day since I gave it to him almost a week ago. He wears it over top his coveralls while he is doing farm work. He said it blocks the wind and keeps him from getting so cold. Thanks for the great product.

Nice and toasty

Needed a new vest
I just replaced the Carhart vest I got 12 to 15 years ago. The old one was getting a little worn and faded. I was delighted to find that I now can get the same vest in 'long'! Since I am now retired, I expect to get at least as much wear out of the new vest.

This is worth the money
I love the image and style of Carhartt products, rugged but clean look you can work in the clothing and still look presentable; this is particularly apparent with the Mens Duck vest.

You want this vest
If you like wearing vests to keep warm this is the one to get. I have had this vest for at least 6 years and it is the only vest I will ever wear at work. Throw it over a sweatshirt and it gets me through 10 degree weather all day. Wear it alone and I'm comfortable up to 50 degrees easily. I don't even think that I've put a scuff in this thing it's so tough. This is what I expect out of my Carhartt gear.

Stylish and Practical
I bought this vest as a Christmas gift for my fiance per his request. Although the vest I ordered was different from the one he initially wanted, he likes it better and is very happy with the style and the warmth it provided during a recent 3 hour outdoor snow removal stint! The only problem with this vest is that it is stiff; hopefully washing it a few times will soften it.

Greatest gift
I ordered this excellent vest for my father while he was visiting me and my wife. He had always talked about owning one of this quality before but could'nt find one of this superb craftsmanship. Nice Vest
My husband loved this vest when I got it for him for Christmas. He liked the quality and the look of it. Unfortunately we had to return it because it wasn't long enough (he has a long torso and the tall size was out of stock). If the right size comes in stock, we would love to get it again.

Awesome Gift Idea
I bought this vest for my husband. We just recently replaced his 15 year old jakcet with a new one and while we were shopping he noticed the vests and tried one on. He really liked the fit and how it wasn't as bulky as the full jacket. He loves it! it's the best gift I've spend money on in a long time!

Core-temp control
When working in the outdoors during early winter, I always found that my coats and jackets were a little cumbersome, especially if I needed to be able to move my arms through a full range of movement. That all changed when I bought my first Carhartt vest. I found that I could put the vest on under my bibs (don't zip it, just pull the center as tight together as possible before buttoning the bibs) and have a warm body and arms free to make any movement they needed to. Working both with animals and in the oil fields, this came in handy. No matter what got thrown at me, I could move around easily but never had to worry about staying warm.

Fit is very funky.
Way too short in the front. I’ll be returning it. It’s cut kind of weird in that it’s longer in the back. If the length up front were the same as it is in the back it would be great.

Go big or go home
I'm 6'2" 290lbs and I tried on a regular 2X Duck vest at a store. It was tight. The store didn't have a 3X in stock, so I ordered a 3X tall on line. When I got it, it was a little big and stiff. I washed it in hot water&dryer, now it fits GREAT.

Loved the Vest!!!
I bought this for my father for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. It fits perfect and once it gets broken in he will not want to take it off. As described. I was nervous a large would be to small if I had a sweatshirt but itâ??s just right. Iâ??m 6â??2â?? and the large tall was the best fit. Carhartt has always made great quality goods from shirts, jackets and this vest. I am impressed.

Nice and warm

great purchase
I love all carhartt gear.I moved to colorado from so calif.The weather in calif doesnt compare to colorado hands down.Carhartt gear gives me more protection and warmth than any dickies gear can offer.I work in the towing biz and my vest and insulated coveralls give me the comfort and durability that i depend on day and night and anything else that inclement weather has given me!I will continue to purchase all carhartt gear that is offered any day!!!
