Overly Average For This Price
I purchased these boots looking for three things.
1- Comfort and less fatigue than from what I might find in heavier steel toe boots
2- Sturdy design to keep my feet safe from the environments i.e. composite toe, support for my ankles from jumping off the back of trucks and more.
3- Durability, to last me many seasons of hard work.
Two of these three criteria were met, durability was not one of them. The problem I had with these boots lay in its very slight but ever so important design flaws that lay them to an earlier grave than what should have been.
- The black padded edge around the top of my boots have slowly torn away from the leather boot right at the seem. although the interior of that section still intact that area has no support left for my ankles and allows water to collect within my boots rather quickly.
-The front lip of the sole of the boots, where the sole slightly overlaps the leather portion of the toe of the boot is beginning to separate from the boot. It wouldn't be easy to pry by hand apart but through experience all you need is to work in some dirt and some gets crammed into that small gap and as you move that soil will work its way deeper into the sole making the gap larger and allowing more to get in later, until eventually it will tear and open right up. Whether this will happen for sure with these boots I truly do not know for sure but to see the sole begin to detach from the rest of the boot like it has for me is a good indicator that the sole is not bonded to the boot well enough to last much longer than a year.
The sad part is that other than those 2 things, These boots would be incredibly durable. yet I find myself purchasing a new pair from somewhere else after only 10 months of Landscaping. Something I would find completely acceptable and expected from a pair of boots half the price.
I loved these boots while they lasted, but for the price I paid for them, I would expect them to last me longer than that. These boots lasted me just as long as any other boot has lasted me, only for twice the price.

A True Achilles Heel
I was looking for a casual/everyday boot for the winter months' snow, mud, and salt. I have another pair of Carhartt boots that I've used for part time grounds crew jobs for 6 years. That pair has held up to all the abuse so well that I decided Carhartt was my best option.
I've been through two winters and have never had wet socks if everything stays below the top of the boot. Haven't had to resort to any secondary coatings or treatments. I've been pleased with the joining of the rubber sole and the sides of the leather. No noticeable separation or water entry.
The cushion still offers a nice pad for all day use. So much so that they've replaced my daily job shoes.
The lace eyes and hooks are smooth. The hooks have a geometry to them that eliminates sharp edges that may saw through laces over time. I'm still on the original pair of laces and they are fully intact.
Where these boots let me down was the joint between the brown leather and the black material around the ankle opening. The black material began to tear at the seam on the very back of the right boot. That tear has continued nearly all the way around. The stitching is holding, but it appears that the double stitching at that joint cut through too much of the black material. It is only happening on one boot, so maybe it's from the way I kneel or drive. Now the foam padding in the ankle is exposed. Because of this, I do not believe they will be as strong through this third winter and will likely need to be replaced. Hopefully there's a new line of boots this winter from Carhartt that might address this issue or have a design that doesn't have the more easily torn material joint in a high flex area.

Best cost friendly boot in the market
The non composite toe is great, light weight boot and serves me well for my trade. Very durable for the electrician they actually held up better than the steal toe boots.

Nice boots...horrible shoelaces....
Nice boots for the price but do yourself a favor and buy new shoelaces at the same time. They are useless.

Great boots, poor fit.
Boots are great! Very comfortable except for the width. I ordered my width size that I always get, but these run smaller than they say. If you go with these boots, make sure to order the next width size up to fit properly. All around the best pair of boots I have owned!

Great Boots
I work in an industrial environment where my shoes are exposed to many chemicals, heat, oil and metal shavings. I bought these boots 3 1/2 years ago and they have been unbelievable. I get an allowance every year for new boots thru work so I have bought three more pairs that are sitting in the closet waiting there turn. The most surprising part of these boots are the insoles. Most boots I get the insoles are junk in 6 months max, these still have the originals. overall excellent product.

Dissapointing boots.
This is my first pair of Carhartt boots. It hasn't even been half a year and the soles are already worn out. I slide right off when I'm climbing chutes and slides. Another odd thing is that both boots developed a squeaking sound when I walk. It would be more understanding if only one boot made noise due to some random factor, but to have both do it doesn't instill confidence in my overall impression of these boots.

Boot is very comfortable right out of the box.
Comfortable and water tight. I like this boot a lot. Good traction in all weather. I am concerned about the wear on the bottom of the sole. I just started wearing these 5 weeks ago and i see noticeable wear on the sole. I'll have to wait to see how long they last. Just like tires, the softer the compound the faster they wear. Otherwise very comfortable. I drive a truck and am in and out a lot. But mostly use these for driving. If you are on concrete all day, these soles may be too soft. Fit is true to size. I am a 10M

Best boots ever
I bought a pair of these almost 3 years ago, I usually only wear them during the winter months, doing construction. I've owned alot of work boots and these are my absolute favorite pair ever. The souls wore out over a year ago and the leather on my left boot wore thin because of roofing but I continue to wear them because of how comfortable they are. I just ordered a new pair and look forward to another couple years with these boots. As long as Carhartt keeps making this style boot, I will never have to shop around for boots again.

1st Carhartt Purchase
I am working harvest at a winery in Calistoga, CA and needed 3 things: Reinforced toe, Ankle protection, Non-insulated (warm-weather). These specific shoes have overdelivered. On the daily I encounter massive amounts of water and wine splashing up to my waist. Also, I walk hours through dry forest floor and creeks (round rocks). These shoes have been my backbone and have been able to keep up for the past 6 weeks. A coworker of mine has Timberland PRO shoes that are already failing. Another coworker has Blundstones, which is a wine industry favorite, those will only last him 1 season. I love these shoes and am already interested in purchasing other models.
Though it isn't advertised, I feel that these are waterproof up until the seems kick in. I haven't had any issues with the composite toe losing strength or form. I even let steel bars and oak barrels land on my toe to prove the shoe's reliability.
The only downside is that they are flat in the foot and are much more comfortable with thicker socks. I don't like thick socks because often times they are too thick or slip often. So for my situation, I use regular athletic socks and tighten the laces as much as possible. Often I will work 9 hour days and never have to readjust my laces, though the bottom of my feet could use more arch support.

A great experience
It was my frist time at the carhartt store and the people were very helpful and friendly the store was very clean . Overall my experience was great . I would go back and i have recommended there products to other people i have to thank the salesman for everytging

Must Buy
First work boots I ever purchased - lasted me 5 years through casual/work. I absolutely got my money's worth and highly recommend purchasing a pair. These boots were so great to me I didn't hesitate with dropping $100+ when it came time. I never had to consider going elsewhere because it was such a great purchase originally.
I did order the waterproof model for my next pair as the outside of the boot still became damp (not inside however), but these specific boots saw everything. Even broken-in several years later, I preferred these to other hiking boots because they still provided the 6 inch ankle support. The soles were utterly destroyed but for some reason were still comfortable, also the leather had held up. Only down side is the rubber becoming detached from the leather, but that occurred probably well past shelf life.

Sturdy boot
Just bought the boots for my son who works in the timber industry. He usually buys size 12.5 so I ordered 12 wide as no 12.5 in stock. He tried them on and says they are comfortable. I especially liked the composite toe. Makes me feel safer when he's working with chainsaws and adds out in the woods.

Decent
Have had these for a few months. My feet were killing me while we were working cattle for a week straight. Decided to go back to more of a work type boot instead of cowboy boots. Help my feet a lot. Did not need much time to break in. Overall a decent work boot.

My go to boot
These boots lasted me a year of 12+ hour days and were amazingly comfortable the entire time. The average life span of my footwear is 6-8 months. Ordering a new pair as soon as I'm done writing this.

work boots that I always wear
I have worked in the auto repair for 20 plus years and as you can imagine, I have owned many work boots. These Carhartt boots HANDS DOWN best I have ever owned. But it is not a surprise due to everything else I have purchased is WONDERFUL. Hell my Family & walk at the local YMCA and I wear my work boots.

Bought a pair in December 2016 after 4 months had to exchange due to defect. Second pair lasted about 8 months, uneven wear on the soles caused a hole to appear and allow water in boot. Own a lot of Carhartt merchandise, these boots are by far the lowest quality item I've purchased.
