It's the best on the market !!
Carhartts Hooded pullover is the best I've ever owned.
I'm a construction worker and usually work outdoors all winter and this pullover is very comfortable and very warm.
There is nothing negative I can say about it.

Rain Defender with comfort
The Rain Defender Sweatshirt certainly does so with comfort & warmth. I spent one cold, rainy day winterizing the outside of the home warm & dry - I was very impressed! I also loved the extra pocket within the front hand pouch to store either my cell phone, car keys, or even loose change. If I had to change anything about this sweatshirt, I'd ask Carhartt to make this with a heavier hood that was also larger then average hood for those that have to wear hard hats while working, along with a higher interior collar inside the hood to protect the neck from the cold. Besides those two changes, this is an excellent sweatshirt for the price & I will buy another when the one I presently own wears out!

awesome sweatshirt
I'm in construction and am outside about every day, all year long, in all types of weather. The sweatshirt is warm, heavy duty and water beads right off of it. I like plenty of room to layer underneath, I'm 5'9" 185lbs and an XL fits great. I've had mine for a couple of months and so far it has held up great in the rain, mud and snow. If you spend a lot of time outside in less than perfect conditions this is a great shirt to own.

I wore this for almost a year straight.
That's right, I wear this bad boy for a minimum of once a week for over two years. I gotta tell you, this sweater is the bees knees. I wore it in the summer and in the winter. I'd get home, take off my work clothes, and put this and some jeans on; it was the golden combo. The only damage to the sweater is on the cuffs. I like to push my sleeves up on my shirts, so naturally the cuffs got pretty worn over the years. Other then that nothing else is wrong with it. It's hands down the best hoodie I have ever owned. I'm going to buy a new one for show and the old one for home.

Buy this sweatshirt!
I am in love with this sweatshirt! I work out doors in any and all conditions and this is built for and has me ready for all of them. This shirt is a heavy weight but still lets me be very mobile and comfortable and warm. I am in occasional drizzle and rain showers that popup without warning and it keeps me dry and breaths well. I was skeptical about the rain defender option but I am now a firm believer in it! I will be getting more rain defender clothing.

Great hoodie. Looks good and fits good.
I have been wearing/abusing this hoodie for the last three weeks and I love it. Water actually beads up and rolls off of it. It is very comfortable and seems rugged enough to last. I need to buy another so I can take this one off and wash it every once in a while.

The best "bunny hug" I've ever owned
I've owned bunny hugs (Saskatchewan term for hoodie) and out of all of them I really love this pair I got from Carhartt. Extremely warm and quite heavy which is probably why it keeps you warm. My only issue with it is that the sizes run larger than expected. I always have fit in medium shirts and hoodies but this one is huge on me. So definitely be careful when ordering one and maybe go a size down.

not what they used to be
I have been a Carhartt fan for more than a decade. I have loved my XL heavyweight full zip hooded sweatshirt. I decided to order a new replacement. It arrived ----- but it is a quite different. First off the zipper sticks in a couple of places. The fit is considerable smaller ------ sleeves tighter and shorter. The waist is tighter. The feel is not the same warm soft feel of the original. I am going to return it. Too bad they had to change a good thing.

Best work wear i have ever bought!
These are a true fit meaning you don't have to size up. Normally i would have to size up to cover my under shirts. They run a bit bigger for you to have room to move and work. So basically a medium is a large. I did not listen to the true fit sizing and i ordered one size up like i always do for sweat shirts. That mistake costed me just over a 100 bucks. I then ordered medium shirts and the fit is perfect! Real heavy material makes it warm and the bottom fits tightly around your waist to keep out drafts. I also read on here where people are complaining about neck size being to small. That is INCORRECT! This hoodie is designed to fit snug around your neck to keep in heat. Which is awesome! So some people were complaining about barely getting there head through. If you grab the hoodie by the back of your head and pull up to remove hoodie then it catches just under your neck. You have to pull hoodie up from the neck side which allows you to have enough room to pull off hoodie without discomfort. I have not tested this hoodie in rain and hope i never do. The short strings is just perfect and out the way of my work. I don't know why i see people complain about it?! Overall i gave this hoodie a 5 stars rating. Best damn hoodie i ever wore! REMEMBER...order your shirt size so if you are a medium build guy and fit medium shirts. Then order medium, the extra room they designed to have in order to have room to move and work will fit you just perfect!

Great Shirt
Sweatshirt is great for early morning. Keep me warm and dry in light drizzle to moderate rain. It gives you enough time to button up any project you may be working on without getting soaked. I like them so much I own FIVE of these in various colors.

Quality Hoody
This is one of the best hoodies I own. I like it so much I bought a second one! Working outside in all types weather and a wide range of temperatures this hoody covers it all. On really cold days I wear it under a coat, but most of the time it is warm enough by itself. It is very comfortable without sacrificing function and durability. It runs true to size even after being washed.

Best Hoodie Ever
From the moment I put the hoodie on I loved it! Rain and snow beads off the cloth. There is a second pocket inside the huge front hand pocket for your cell phone or whatever you want to put in there.It is warm when it needs to be warm. Yet it breaths to keep you cool when it warms up a bit. I would reccomend this to everyone! I'm 6'1" 255 pounds and wear xlarge tall. This product is true to size. Did not shrink when washed. I just love it!

The hoodie is perfect. Sizing is perfect for a 3xl. The generous sizing allows for unrestricted movement. Got caught in a rainshower and the water repellent feature is nice also. Overall another great product from Carhartt

Does its job
Bought this sweatshirt for both my son and husband in L Tall. They are 6'5" and 6'3". Fits nice and is long enough in body length and sleeves. My son works on a dredge, gets quite wet and swears by the Rain Defender doing its job. They both like the 1/4 zip & cozy inside. It's a 10!

Not what they were
I ve bought several over the years for my employees family and friends. Disappointed with the new elastic cuffs and waistline. I'm getting the same response from all my guys. It's not holding up and doesn't have that great feel it's had for years . Hope they go back to the old elastic or something else at least.

Great Hoodie!
The heavy weight, water resistance, and wind blocking features make this a great sweatshirt to wear while working in bad weather. Easier to move in than a jacket and it doesn't soak up the rain like other sweatshirts that left me cold. The cell phone pocket is a nice feature, though I find it hard to get the phone out when I need it. Overall, a great all around hoodie.

Great hoodie
Real nice and is definitely heavyweight, which makes it perfect on them not so cold days. It also has an extra small pocket on the right hand side of the big pocket. Where you can place a lighter in it, if you smoke, or even if you don't, but it's nice to have the extra pocket. Overall with this hoodie, it's definitely 1 to have that's for sure. Great job on this 1 carhartt.

Love this sweatshirt!
I will continue to order this sweatshirt for as long as they are made. Such a great quality sweatshirt and my husband loves them. He works in construction and is out in the elements . He won't wear anything else. I only wish they were available in women's sizes too so that I could get one. I love my carhartt sweatshirt too; it just doesn't have the rain defender that I would like to have.

I've owned several different goodies from several brands, and none even compare to this one. This hoodie is very thick and feels like it is durable as well. Carhartt definitely did a great job on this product with the fit as well. I'm 6 foot tall and about 185 pounds and a Medium fits perfect.

Best sweatshirt ever
This is the best sweatshirt I have ever owned. It is a heavy weight material that stands up to rigerous work in muddy ditches and climbing in and out of trench boxes most days. I’ve burned up a lot of sweat shirts in no time on the grade but these sweatshirts take a beating and come back for more.

One of if not the best hoodie I've purchased
I have now purchased 3-4 of the same hoodies and been beyond satisfied with each one. Easily on of the more durable and stain resistant hoodies I've worn. I have yet to ruin them other than with bleach and painting another on accident. They keep you very warm and slightly drier than other hoodies how ever will get wet over time and after drying them multiple times. I recommend this to everyone looking for an durable and comfortable hoodie that will last.

Been looking for a hoodie that is long enough for my husband for years and this one meets all of his requirements. It’s thick and we already washed it and it’s still long enough on him.

My Favorite Sweatshirt
I have had several of these sweatshirts and have loved them all. They keep you warm, reasonably dry and seem to last forever. My only suggestion would be not to dry them on too hot a setting as the arms have drawn up a little.

Awesome hoodie
First off I'm a chick but I prefer men's hoodies for length and comfy fit. This hoodie was awesome I'm a student for WV Women Work a pre apprentice program for the construction industry. It may be August but it has been pouring here, that doesn't stop us from being outside building our shed. I was the only one who stayed nice and dry

Awesome winter sweatshirt
I got this as a gift last winter and stayed warm all winter. First two weeks I had it, It was -25 air temp with a -35 wind chill and wore it during work with just a wind breaker jacket over it and could stood outside my whole work shift. Recommend to anyone who works outside during the winter.

Nice hoodie if it fit.
I own 4 mid weight logo hoodies so I bought this one in the same size and I find it a big tighter and the sleeves a bit shorter. I’m thinking about returning it for a bigger size.

Super warm!
Great winter woody and is super warm. The water repellant works perfectly and helps repel stains/dirt easily.
Fit runs a little small and I wish the opening for your head was a little larger. Regardless, this is still one of my favorite hoodies for the winter.

I love it, it feels awesome !
I'm a skinny dude so it runs a little large on me but that's what allows me to layer up underneath without getting bulky at the arm pits.
I just wish the black version was a deeper black.

Great Sweatshirt
Carhartt quality you'd expect. I'm 6'5, and 250, and the LT size fits me great. sleeves and torso are correct length for me. Good heavy material.
Probably warm enough to the 40 deg F range (i'm wearing at as a liner for my winter clothes)
the hidden pocket in the pouch could be a hair deeper to better fit cell phone...but I think that's nitpicking.

Nice! But a tad big.
Great quality. Really durable feeling. Looks good. Just a bit too big. Even washed it in hot water and dryed it on high heat and it's still quite large. Good for layering though. Which is what I'm using it for.

Well worth the money
You really get your money's worth with this hoodie. It runs a little large but that is alright. It's nice and heavy and you can tell they didn't cut corners when they made this thing. This is well worth the money in my book.

Perfect for the outdoors
These hoodies are perfect! I repair water service lines and water mains and working in the outdoors these make rain a thought of the past. Beads right off. Not waterproof but they resist most of the initial water that hits it

Comfortable and Warm
This shirt is nice for cold rainy days. The material is heavyweight so wearing it above 50 degrees would be difficult. Does it’s job the rain and snow just run off the material and it’s got the comfortable cotton feel not that plasticity material that other company are using for dry technology. I wish Carhartt would come out with this shirt in lighterweight models too.

Awesome Hoodie
This is a great hoodie. I am frequently cold during winter time (even indoors) so this hoodie was a must. It keeps me warm and comfortable all day long. The only complaint I have is that I fall in between sizes and I had to get the smaller size, because the larger size was too big.

Nice, heavy duty sweatshirt!
This sweatshirt is the real deal, heavy duty, very warm, and extremely comfortable. I typically wear extra large in a sweatshirt--but, as is usual with Carhartt, their sizes run big, so a Large in this sweatshirt is plenty roomy for me. Highly recommended!

The best I've ever had
Remember when you were a kid and your folks would always get your hoodie a size or two large and it was the comfiest thing you owned? I ordered mine tall, and that's exactly what I got, all that comfort and warmth wrapped up in a rain resistant package. Surprisingly enough, this hoodie also breathes incredibly well! I have yet to overheat in it when I come indoors. Knowing Carhartt construction, having owned many pairs of their work pants over the years, I'm absolutely positive this thing will stand up to time and wear. I cannot recommend these sweatshirts heartily enough, they are durable, extremely comfortable, warm when its cold and not too hot whens its warm, easy to clean, dry and stylish. I might have to buy another!

Works As It Was Designed To
Fits larger than the size indicates, which is preferable over smaller. The rain drops collect on the surface and can easily be wiped away. If there's a lot of drops, though, and you're getting in a vehicle, guess what, so are the drops. But at least you can shed most of it, if feasible, before getting in. Nice and warm, too. Highly recommend it.

Nice hoodie
I ordered this as a Xmas gift for my boyfriend who works outside all year round and wears his hoodies as jackets. He mentioned that he had a hoodie like this one before that was his favorite, to me he was describing this one. I just received it, seems like a good hoodie and as described other than it doesn't seem very thick for being a heavyweight but i will update when he gets it and tells me what he thinks of it (he's the picky one)! Great Hooded Sweatshirt
This Sweatshirt is true to size. Fits great with extra room. I like how the shoulders are cut so that when you extend you arms the sleeves to do not ride up to your elbows. It is also long enough so that it covers down to your hips. Wore this in the rain many times and kept me dry. The neck opening is a little small. Overall a must have Sweatshirt.

Heavyweight sweatshirt
If you work in varying weather conditions, such as cold, rain, snow, this is one sweatshirt you need to own. It can be worn as outwear or under a coat, depending how cold it is. I work as a carpenter and have worn this sweatshirt about 20 times, its great. It keeps you warm and repels rain that would normally soak into any other sweatshirt. which in turn keeps you from getting wet and freezing you butt off. It is also one of the most durable sweatshirts you will every own. Wearing this while building homes and It has held up great with not even the slightest sign of any wear. I highly recommend this sweatshirt to anyone that works outside year round.

Paxton pullover hoodie.
I have two Paxton pullover hoodies, one dark green and the other navy blue, and I absolutely love them. I normally don't get excited about clothes, but these sweatshirts are worth getting excited about! The quality, thickness, warmth, comfort, and attention to detail are second to none. Take the three-piece jersey-lined hood, for example. It's rounded shape fits my head closely and the jersey lining looks nice and does not leave lint in my hair. I have a buzz cut and lint clings to it like Velcro. I also noticed that the drawstring is sewn into the hood to prevent it from coming out or becoming uneven. If you look inside the edge of the hood where the drawstring passes through it, you will see a spot of stitching right in the center. The corners of the pocket have heavy stitching to prevent the pocket from coming loose; this happened to one of my old hoodies. The entire sweatshirt is triple-stitched on every seam. The Rain Defender fabric treatment really sheds water, yet it does not affect the texture of the fabric. It feels like a normal heavyweight cotton sweatshirt; thick, soft, and dense. The Paxton hoodie may seem overly expensive, but when you look at all the details I just mentioned and think about the value they add to the product by increasing its usefulness and durability, the price is more than justified. I'll take substance over style any day, but I really like the style of the Paxton hoodie; plain and simple, no fancy logos or patterns, just a small Carhartt tag on the corner of the pocket. I never wore hooded sweatshirts when I was a kid, but now I have come to appreciate how useful, practical, comfortable, and stylish they really are. I love my Paxton hoodies and will be buying more in different colors when my local retailer has more in stock. Well done, Carhartt!

Brown Hoodie
This hooded sweat shirt has all the traditional Carhartt features especially for durability and comfort. Once worn, it breaks in completely and comfortably. The fabric is lightweight on the body but keeps warmth in and wind out. I have only been able to test repellent capabilities in slight rain drizzle and it worked great. I am disappointed that the the XXLTall just fits. I really would like half inch longer in sleeves and roomier in shoulders/chest. I am not a Carhartt duck brown fan. I would prefer heather or navy. What is the 2nd smaller pocket in the hand pouch for?

Not impressed with the new material...
I've been wearing carrhartt for 30 years. very disappointed with the durability of the new material. The cuffs on the sleeves are already falling apart after six months of light wear. never even wore them to work. I definitely would not recommend these to a friend....

Ridiculous
I bought a size small then I returned it because it was huge. Then I find out that all of your size small items are actually size XL. I will never buy any Carhartt again because your clothing is apparently made for giants

Appears to be of good quality material, just didn’t like the weight of what I ordered, will be replacing with medium weight.
I bought this for my son, I felt it was too heavy, I will be returning it, and replacing it with a medium weight, and I like the medium weight color that I chose. So it works out all together. I don’t know yet if the size is ok for him, he does wear 2xlarge tall..iam sure it will..this will be a Xmas gift.

Love the hoodies
I bought 2 hoodies, because my kids will refuse to wear winter jackets..and it was 29 outside at 05:00 and my child was warm without coat :) will buy more...the bonus is it leeps kids dry when raining...because kids will not use an umbrella.. fyi my daughter is 4'9" and she is fluffy and a 2xl in mens fit her great...(200lb) not shaming her at all, but anyways she is 17...fits her great...my son is 13 5'9" and i got him a large in mens (165lb) it gives him room to grow...??

Paxton Hoodie
When I think of a sweatshirt, this is what I think of. It's heavyweight, comfortable and durable. I truly feel this is the best sweatshirt on earth. Carhartt has ruined other brands' sweatshirts for me. Nothing compares. I am 6'2", 195 and ordered an L - Tall. It's plenty long. Maybe too long, so taller guys, keep that in mind.

Best Hoodie Ever

This Sweatshirt is really comfortable and seems like heavy duty construction, but I was outside in a little bit of sleet for about an hour and a half and it started to soak through and made me a little chilly. If you plan to buy this for outside and with a lot rain, I would not buy it, but for shorter stents of rain, Perfect Sweatshirt for the job!!

One word "Carhartt"
I've been wearing Carhartt gear for over 10 years now, everything from work wear, hunting, and some everyday wear and I am more than satisfied with all of the products from Carhartt that I own. Durability, comfort, style, and fit is unmatched. I'm 6'2"/247 lbs and I never order anything in Big and Tall and all of my Carhartt gear fits me to perfection. I've tried other brands and none compare to the satisfaction I get with the Carhartt brand. The Rain Defender Hooded Sweatshirts that I have haven't been put to the test yet, but I'm confident that they'll perform just as good if not better than my other hooded sweatshirts that I have from Carhartt.

Very Pleased
I ordered this to replace a former "hoodie" that served me well for over eight years. Upon delivery, I found that it is, indeed heavy weight. It is loose enough to allow a heavy shirt, although I can't see why, long enough to reach over my hips, (yeah!) the arms are perfect, I am 6'2", the neck area is a little snug when donning and removing, but doesn't cramp the nck when fully donned. I am still making adjustments for the small pocket on the right side, but that is a small matter. Warm, comfortable, a pleasure to wear.

Working hands.
I’ve have 4 of these. They are my go to work sweatshirts. Cuffs are nice so the sleeves don’t bunch up on my gloves in cold weather or just leather working gloves. The neck does come very tight. But breaks in nicely. This is due to how thick the sweatshirt is. See a lot of people complaining about that. It’s only tight getting it over your head. After about a month of use it breaks in. Hood fits well under a work helmet and won’t bunch up over your eyes. Great for a tall guy I’m 6’4” . Pouch is nice. Holds tools well. Triple stitched. An the heavy fabric doesn’t stretch much. I bought the “tall” version”

Solid pullover for early spring, fall, acts as good layer for winter.
I work year round in ski industry as chair lift mechanic and use this hoodie every day every season...except for July and August. I work around a lot of sharp metal and fortunately this hoodie has proven well. It will eventually saturate in constant water/rain.

Great Hoodie for just about anything
This is my go to hoodie for just about everything. It looks good, is very comfy, and the rain repellent on the jacket has lasted very well. I got this jacket for Christmas in 2016 and the only noticeable difference is that its has faded slightly with use.

well worth the buy
it’s an amazing sweatshirt. very comfy. keeps me warm during cold days at work, the wind doesn’t get through at all. i wouldn’t highly recommend it for anyone who works in cold, rainy, windy areas. and it’s not bad looking either!

decent hoodie
these hoodies held up decently, the cuffs broke down pretty quick though, but held up after tearing. and the biggest downfall for these are the opening for your head, they seem to run really small and have to squeez your head through

This is a super warm, durable hoodie. It's a little baggy in the belly area. I'm kind of between the medium and large size (at least for how I would like my clothes to fit) at 6ft 1in, 210 lbs athletic build. Mediums are good in the body size, but semi short in the length of sleeves & body, and semi restrictive in the shoulder/ chest. A large covers the length and chest/ shoulder restriction, but adds the excess amount of material in the body midsection, akin to swimming in a potato sack. Being between sizes you have to pick your poison I suppose. The solution is two words, medium tall. Do some justice to your customers that are still in decent shape. Awkward fitting clothing drives me crazy. This is still an otherwise great, heavy duty, warm hoodie, just the fitment issue with me, and I'm sure others.

XLT sizing way off
Love Carhartt, but the tall one I ordered is said to be 2" longer than regular XL, but see picture -- it is 6" longer, so feels like a moomoo. Also, the drawstring on the XLT I bought from this website was really short -- only stuck out about 1/2 inch on each side, so looks foolish. Pretty disappointing as I paid like $65 bucks for a sweatshirt.

Sizes vary.
Purchased two of these, one in black, one in a charcoal grey color. Both were size large original fit. Grey fits perfect, black is too big more like an XL. Grey was made in Mexico, black in Guatemala. Otherwise great product.

Great Quality, Great Service!
They were an early Christmas present for my son, and he LOVED them. He wears a lot of Carhartt clothing. He loves the fact that they are rain resistant. I bought him the 2X size, but wound up sending them back and reordering in a size XL. The service was exceptional, as I ordered on a Sunday, and received the replacements on Thursday morning. I also returned the first order, which Carhartt paid for the return shipping. Definitely would order from them again.

Bought online since not available in any store. Needed 2XL Tall because normal 2XL's run short in the arms but the TALL is great in the arm length but the length is way too long. Ordering the normal 2XL to see if it will fit.

Water repellent once
Worked great the first time I wore it in the rain. Rain beaded up an ran off perfectly. Hoodie was only damp in the outside, dried it in the basement with a dehumidifier running over a few days . Tried it a week later and it sucked up the rain like a sponge and became extremely heavy.

Provides better protection from cold weather than the average coat, provides better protection against liquids than a raincoat. I work as an overnight stocker and have had a full 2-liter of soda explode all over it, it simply dripped onto the floor, no cleanup required(for my hoodie). Makes rain unnoticeable.

Perfect for cold nights and light rain and snow
I wear it every morning and night to walk my dog for half an hour or so. Temp has been in the 20's and it's plenty warm. The pocket is roomy and keeps my hands warm too. Very comfortable and warm.

Great for working and staying dry
I bought this sweatshirt for my step dad as a gift. He works construction and plows and it has kept him warm and dry. The water resistance works so well that when his pocket filled with snow, the snow melted and the pocket held the water instead of absorbing it. Great gift for any guy.

Great product, with one flaw
I am a correctional officer and I work in the yard a lot which means I am outside in all weather conditions. I have been wearing this hoodie for about 8 months now and I love it!! It is very comfy at all times no matter what I am doing, it is very warm. It meets the carhartt standard of being very durable. The only flaw in this product is that the hood does not cover my entire head when it is up. But I wear a hat so that is not a deal breaker! Still a great product

CAN'T BE BEAT!
I was given the Paxton heavyweight hooded sweatshirt as a present and it is hands down the best I own. I work outside everyday so you learn what keeps you warm via trial and error. I world guess I own 25-30 sweatshirts and this one is easily the best. The wind doesn't cut throught it and you can feel the weight & quality. They do run a touch large but gives you room for layers.

This is the best sweatshirt I own. It is very warm, roomy, and a great fit. The best feature is the rain defender water repellent. I spent six hours working in the rain wearing this sweatshirt, and it did not absorb the rain and get all weighed down like a regular sweatshirt would.

This is the first review I've written on anything. I really like the hoodie, it performs as promised. It kept me dry and warm. I wore it on a windy day and it cut the wind nicely. Wasn't really expecting that. I messed up when i ordered it and got mine a bit to big for me so I will be getting one that fits me a bit better. the only thing I didn't like was the cell phone holder, I tried using it a few times while at work and my phone kept falling out. Other than that its a great product.

I have other Carhartt sweatshirts that I have worn for years so when I had the opportunity to try this one with the Rain Defender treatment I was happy to try it. As usual the sweatshirt was well made, fit great, and looked good too! I was skeptical about the water resistance feature but after wearing it a few times in light rain just to try it out, I was surprised to see the water running off and not soaking in. This only adds to the usefulness of my Carhartt sweatshirt. A great buy!!!

If outside in all weather is your middle name
this is the sweatshirt for you.
I work outside, when I'm not working I'm in the field with my dog, hunting, working on fences, or a tractor, splitting wood. You name it. This sweatshirt can really take it. Wind? Hang on the back of a garbage truck at 30MPH, don't feel it. Rain? Steady rain for hours deer hunting. I stayed dry, at least the part the sweatshirt covered. Durability? Slinging trash or busting brush pheasant hunting this sweatshirt took it all and asked; 'That all you got?' Cold? T-shirt, longsleeve T, this sweatshirt and a sherpa vest is good to go down to 10 degrees.
This is another of those products that let you live Carhartt hard.

Comfy workhorse
This sweatshirt is awesome, it is super soft yet holds up under the wear and tear of a construction job. I really like the cell phone pocket within the pocket. Any time I would try to stash my phone in the pocket of my old sweatshirts it would fall out. The new pocket is the perfect solution.

keeps you warn and dry
this Sweater is really warm, a bit heavy, but I got used to it after a few days.the only problem i came across was the zipper was wearing where you start. overall a good work Hoodie.

Fantastic sweatshirt!
This is an extremely warm and thick sweatshirt. I've worn it multiple times out during rain and snow without extra layers, and it keeps me more than warm enough when working outside in Montana fall and winter weather.
While the fabric isn't the softest, it holds up much better than most against abrasion and tearing, which is great.
If you are buying to have a durable work sweatshirt for cold weather, this is a great sweatshirt. If you're looking for a casual, light weather sweatshirt, this might not work as well for you.

Comfortable, warm, reliable
This sweatshirt made the local high school football season survivable !! It provided plenty of warmth on the coldest nights and did a great job of not letting that bone-chilling wind through. The hood fit nicely and helped keep the rain off my head and when not needed it stayed back out of the way. The rain just ran off the outside of the sweatshirt keeping me dry and happy. The only odd thing was the little "security" pocket inside the pouch. This either needs to be larger or removed all together. With today's phones and key fobs, it isn't big enough for much. Overall great product and would recommend to others. Oh yes, nice soft and comfortable lining too!!

Very nice sweatshirt
I wear hooded sweatshirts everyday from October through May. This one is one of the best I have had. It keeps you warm on the cold days, but also breathes well so that it isn't too hot on the not so cold days. It fits great, and it looks good too. I would definitely recommend!

Excellent hooded sweatshirt
The fit was true to size, not too tight or too baggy, the fabric is soft and durable, it is very versatile, what more could you ask for in a hooded sweatshirt? I found it to be very comfortable, my only wish were the neck opening be a little bit bigger. I found the pocket is just the right size for a survey notebook. I've used it at work, out in the yard, in the shop, and hunting. In all cases it met or exceeded my expectations for what a hooded sweatshirt should do. If you need a quality sweatshirt that will last the test of time, this is the one.

This Hoodie is Da Bomb!
I work for the Long Island Rail Road and I work outside in all weather. It is very warm and durable. But the best part about this hoodie is that it is water repellant. While working out on the tracks, I was caught in a rain shower. I was too far from my work truck to get a rain coat so I just put my hood up and continued working and "low and behold" I was able to stay dry. My only complaint for me is I wish the hood was a little bigger so it would fit over my hard hat.

Best HEAVY hoodie out there
I work outside all winter. I live in this sweatshirt from November to March. Been wearing them for about 8 years now, a new one every year, and with a layer or two underneath it, I never have to worry. 5-10 below? No problem. Windy? No problem. I love these hoodies. A great Pick!
The sweatshirt is great!. It does in fact repel the water off of you. If you keep a couple of layers under it (t-shirt, long underwear), it will keep you warm on very cold days!
The hood could be a little larger to fit over a hat with out pulling on it. Besides that, it awesome for work or play.

Another quality product from Carhartt. Rain Defender Heavyweight sweatshirt is the way to go if you work or play outside in the winter. I bought mine in 2xl tall. It keeps my tush warm on these cold days. I ordered 2 and I’m going to order 2 more unless Santa brings me a couple more.

Love love love have for several years.
I have had one of these for a few years now and love it. I wear it all the time especially if it is cooler out. I have worn it a ton in my woodworking shop so it has seen pretty rough times and had some abuse. I recently bought another one as my old one has several stains and the cuffs are pretty worn and have some areas that are coming undone. I still have my old one which I will probably wear till it’s falling off me lol. I also wanted a new one that looked nicer for when my wife I occasionally go out with friends.

New Favorite Sweatshirt
This thing is super comfortable. Sleeve length and body are perfect. I am 6'3 with long arms and torso. Regular 3x sweatshirts feel like I stole a kid's sweatshirt. Nice to have Tall sweatshirts available and the Heavy Weight is awesome!

Like a best friend.
The first time I put this sweatshirt on, I was impressed by the fit. After washing it, I was impressed by the comfort. By the end of winter, when I put this sweatshirt on, I feel like I am wrapped in a level of comfort and warmth like you get when you are hanging out with your best friend. If I could, I'd wear this everywhere.

Awesome and live up to what they say.
I've have these for about a year now. Last Friday was the telltale for it all. We were working a pole lead that the wind had snapped eight poles, it rained on us solid for about 5 1/2 hours before I changed the shirt out. It was nice and wet on the outside but still dry on the inside. I didn't want to risk my luck anymore so I swapped in the rain gear. I place the sweater over my steering wheel with my heater turned up and it dried out in about an hour and then I wore it home. Love them so much I just bought two more. Now I have 6.

Extremely Impressed
If you work in the woods, live in the woods, or play in the woods, this sweatshirt is for you. The rain defender technology is amazing. I live in the northeast, and this sweatshirt is perfect for those cold days with pop-up rainstorms. The water literally does roll right off. I'm a logger and work in the elements all the time, and this sweatshirt will now be a staple in my work clothes. I will definitely be purchasing other rain defender gear from Carhartt.

Probably would've liked it but received the wrong size and color. Had to ship back and make multiple calls to customer service for a pre paid shipping label since it was not my mistake then to get credited for the original shipping charge. Long story short, ordered and received what I needed from Amazon and got it in 2 days... but was still past the date that my husband needed it for hunting. Don't think I'll be a repeat customer.

after spending quite a bit of money for my old favorite hoodie, I find that the head opening is so small I have to cut down into the chest one and a half or two inches in order to fit over my head. Bad design. It used to be perfect.st

Very disapointed .
The material tears very easy with even the slightest snag. I washed it one time in cold water and let it hang dry and it has shrunk so much I cant wear it. I have always loved Carhartt but I think this will be my last time buying this brand. I am a working man who has a family to provide for and cant afford to have a product be totally useable after one washing. loosing a long time customer with this one.
