Kept me warm in 10*
I was visiting and freezing in Chicago until I went into the Carhartt store and bought one of these, It fit great, looked better than the "puffy" jackets I had tried on, and was much warmer than I expected. I wore it for 3 days straight in wind and cold. Packed well in my backpack as well.

Best jacket ever!
This jacket is soft, comfortable, very warm, looks great and is very durable in a variety of conditions. I've not owned another jacket that met so many needs at once! You won't be disappointed!

Impressive jacket
I love this jacket. I have had several “puff” style jackets from other brands and this is every bit as good and for 1/2 the price. Very lightweight and easy to pack. Keeps me warm in windy and cold environments. The fit is great also. It’s not a fitted jacket so it allows for a little more movement.

Amazing warm jacket for the weight!
This jacket is surprisingly warm for the weight of it. On a 25 degree night, I was nice and toasty with nothing more than a lightweight flannel underneath this jacket. It packs up nice and small as well. It does run a bit large. At 6'3" and 260 lbs, the Large Tall fits great but I do not have a ton of room to do a lot of layering, but being as I live in the deep South, I won't need to. But then again, I don't think I would have to in order to stay warm when visiting family in Colorado. In case anyone is wondering, the moss colored jacket has orange draw cords at the bottom.

Improvements Needed
Very nice jacket but not truly designed for the working man. If this was a working mans light jacket the pockets for hands would be zippered and not a flapped buttoned stile. The chest pocket and if there were zippers on the hand pocket should be facing down to close. The reason for this is due to zipper lanyards getting caught while working you don't want the pocket to accidentally open and you lose anything that you may have in your pockets. In general this is a nice light jacket to go out on the town with but if Carhartt really wants this to be a working mans jacket as well as something that you would wear out they would fix the pocket and zippers.

Fantastic
I ordered a XXL Tall. Its truly a XXL Tall.
Fit is amazing.
Not only comfortable but surprisingly warm for such a lightweight jacket.
On the downside it has a bit of a chemical smell but I haven't washed it yet.
Water does bead off of it and is WAY more water proof than I expected.
I was charged shipping though even though it was over 99 bucks.,,,,,, So if ya could credit that Id appreciate it.

Boxy Fit
Overall, this is a great jacket. I give the jacket two faults:
1. Boxy fit - if you are an athletic person you will have a lot of room around your "gut" area.
2. The first jacket I purchased the drawstring around the waist broke and pulled out of the jacket the first day.
Overall - great value. Nice appearance. Would recommend.

Thanks for the jacket, stranger!
I actually acquired this jacket after a stranger left it at a house party....and I love it! It is lightweight, warm, packs easy and looks good. The only reason it don’t get 5 stars is because It doesn’t do very well in the rain. Mine might be a few years old though....I’m not sure!

Just what I was looking for
Found this jacket in local store in western N.Y. Bought it for warm light weight hiking jacket. Went for walk one evening, about 15 degrees out. When you layer properly this jacket is perfect. Also I use a sling pack often when hiking, this jacket allows for easy movement of pack to access contents. Very pleased so far.

Very nice jacket
I have researched on line this type of jacket. I knew what color I wanted but had a hard time finding the one I liked on line. I just happened to go into CarHartt store in Farmington Utah and saw this type of jacket I had been looking for so I tried it on and really liked the feel and look and the color was exactly the color I had been looking for but they didn't have the color in my size. The lady working with me in the store said she could have my size delivered right to my door. I payed for it and in a few days it was delivered. Can't wait till next winter to wear it. Great Fall and early Winter jacket.
I bought this jacket about a month ago and it is my favorite daily jacket now. It is super lightweight, you don't really feel the weight of the jacket at all. It is warm and makes a great Boston Fall and early winter jacket. I would estimate most men would be comfortable in this jacket down to ~25 deg. F.

Sleeves are short, very big around the middle.
Just got this jacket so I can't speak to durability. I'm 6'2",210, I normally wear a 17 1/2,36 slim fit shirt. I got the XL, I wish I had gotten the XL Tall. The sleeves are a bit short, they sit right at my wrist with my arm straight but pull up quite a bit when my arm is bent. Overall I'd say that the coat is cut quite large though the middle, seams to be just right through the shoulders. It is very light weight, and seems to be very warm so far. I really wish they made a XL Tall slim fit, made in the USA please.

Can't wait for the weather to be cooler so that I can put both jackets to use!
I've been on the prowl since I gave my TH brand jacket away last fall. I bought 2,of the men jackets because I like the colors better. But what I love best is the yellow C logo is more visible on the men's jacket By the way I brought the black jacket and the navy one??

Great Work Jacket
Exactly as advertised. I’m 5’8”, 185 lbs, muscular build. The large size was perfect. Lots of room to move around. Sleeves a little long, but the hook and loop cuff took care of that. Expecting a lot of use from this jacket. I recommend it for work purposes and casual wear - not for a night out, but that is not what I buy Carhartt for.

Awesome jacket. Good insulation, repels water well. Horrible for stains. Had this jacket less than a week before it became stained. And it will not wash out.

Great lightweight weather resistant jacket
Great jacket. I wore it during the snow showers here in GA and never felt cold. I checked the sizing on the website and it suggested a xl long, something I had never considered, and shockingly it fit perfectly.
I just wish they had the green one in stock when I ordered.

Great lightweight jacket, wish was a bit more.
Had the jacket for a year now it is my go to jacket for most days, fits great and is very durable. Only wish it was a bit more puffy, or if they made a "Puffier" version for colder days. It has the puffy jacket look while staying thin and light causing it not to be as warm as just about any other puffy type jacket ive used. On its own starts to be a bit lacking under 30*f for more than some quick tasks. As a part of your layers its works great for a mid.

Love it!!
Was a little worried that the jacket would be too short in length for me, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Perfect sizing, love the adjustable cuffs and the fact it’s water resistant is awesome!! Highly recommend.

Not quite what I was aftter
First let me say Carhartt makes quality products and their customer service (on-line chat specifically) is great. That being said I ordered the Gilliam Jacket in size Large Tall. I am 6'00" tall and weigh about 190. I was swimming in the jacket. I am thinking a medium would have been a better choice. Also, I was hoping for a "puffy" style Jacket. Although the lines and the picture of the model present that look and style, it was rather flat and seemed to be more of a "light" jacket with minimal insulation. I have not given up and may go after a Medium and see where that takes me. Carhartt is great and I will continue to purchase from them.

Good not great
Jacket is adequate for the money, lightweight yet warm enough as long as you layer your clothing. I wore it to Germany for a week and now the elastic cord in the waistline is broke.

Great, except.
The jacket is great except for the collar liner. That material likes to catch on my facial stubble as I turn my head from side to side. Fit is right. Light. Warm. And a good number of pockets.

Great warm jacket
Love this jacket! This is my second one I wanted this one to go out and not worry about getting it dirty. Super warm and comfortable. The only thing I would suggest is a better zipper system. Some times it gets stuck in the coat material otherwise I give this jacket a 5 star!!

Great for Camping and Hiking
This is a great light-weight jacket that is perfect for hiking and camping. Will fold and compress down to a very small size, so great for stuffing in a backpack. Has been good for misty and foggy mornings. Does have a slight strange smell that isn't bad...but different. Happy with this jacket overall.

This is WAY warmer than I thought it was going to be
The folks at the Carhartt store said it was going to be warm, but, it looked so THIN. They didn't have my size in, so I ordered one.
It is really warm! Incredible!
With regards to size: I wear a 2X shirt very comfortably. The 2X jacket was a bit snug if I planned to wear anything under it. The 3X, which I ordered, we a tad on the big size.
I guess I need a 2.5X jacket.
The drawstrings on the bottom help remove some of the extra size.

Love it so far
